I read your ebay listing, seeing that this is a 220 Volt unit with a European plug on it, and made in Germany. To be honest with you, your best market for this would be in a European country. 'Travel adapters' are easily enough to be obtained at any Radio Shack, to allow this to be plugged into U.S. standard outlets, although a bit cumbersome. However, as you stated in your listing about it working on 110 Volts, it will... But it won't have near the output (sometimes if any), as it would, powered from 220 Volts. Over the years I had purchased countless 'era' Violet Wand Kits, made in the U.S., France, England, Germany, and who knows what other countries, as I'm a collector of the glass from these older units. I didn't care much about the workings of the Violet Wands themselves, as my particular interest was the glass. However I did get some that were in working condition, and know for a fact that the output is greatly reduced when powered from 110 Volts. I had repaired and rebuilt so many of those older units that I couldn't begin to guess how many anymore. But I do have all the step up, & step down transformers, and plug adapters for just about every country still on my workbench for when I used to work on these. I basically gave up rebuilding and repairing them as the time involved never justified what I was able to get for an 80 year old unit. Also, many of them weren't repairable as there were no modern day parts to subsitute and get these working again. I now manufacture new Violet Wand Kits, and in both 110 Volt as well as 220 Volt versions, and with any type of plug requested, naturally on a special order basis. It is good that you have the original paperwork for this unit! It does help the overall value of this unit. Sometimes the documentation is worth more than the unit itself! I was able to get a hold of some copies of German instruction books, and found that the Germans were probably more into these units than anyone else! Actually kind-of freakish, (or maybe just 'kinky')! There are still have some old German probes that I'm looking for, for my collection. They actually had such probes as 'Breast Probes', with what appeared to be some kind of pump attached to it, and they also came out with a couple versions of some 'Penis Probes'! Just a couple that I don't have, that I would love to add to my collection! Even if I could obtain some detailed drawings or good quality photographs I would have them reproduced by my glass manufacturer, just as examples of those old rare probes. I seriously doubt if any of these old probes survived over the years, and through a World War, where recycling actually began for the war effort. Not to mention the time when these were found to have no real medical benefit, and were tagged as 'quack medical devices'. I'm sure many were destroyed and discarded, what a shame... Naturally any documentation on their uses would be great as well! As of yet, I haven't had the instructions I have translated, so I don't even know what I might have here. The Germans seemed much different and far more advanced in the 'experimentation' of these, as compared to U.S. companies and their manufactured Kits. It did seen strange, as all over the world, these Kits were marketed both to physicians and to end users. However there was a big difference in the Kits that were marketed to physicians, and the end users. End user Kits usually had pretty much standard type glass probes included with it, where Kits marketed to physicians did have a much higher variety of glass probes available for them. I have some original documents showing all the glass probes that were available from a couple U.S. companies. These had to have been those that were only available to physicians as there were about 20 different dental probes, as well as those 'invasive' type probes, eye probes, ear probes, a couple variations of nasal probes (one of which appears to be one of those included in your Kit), and probes that you just have to wonder 'what' they were used for! There was actually even a 'cocain' probe... no doubt used for 'medical purposes' back then? Anyway, I wish you luck with your ebay auction! I sincerely hope you find a interested buyer in a European country as this would really be the best market for your rare piece. Master Joe
