Good luck to you. When I moved from Utah to Florida I sold my furniture and paid for UPS to ship the rest so it didn't cost me anything. Then you need only get yourself and your pets to Alabama. Isn't your Master able to help you? If you do not have a car, can he come pick you up? Maybe he could share the responsibility. JMO.

Please be careful.

maggie,

Some people are able to move free by driving a car owned by someone who needs the car transported to another state. College campuses are often full of ads asking or offering to do this.

That being said, I hope the Mods delete this thread. IMO it's begging. It also equates submissive with helpless victim.

Good luck to you... but, shouldn't your Master be assisting you?
IMO it is just as much his responsibility as yours. No way in hell would I move across the country to someone who wouldn't even help get me there.

i just wanted to give the board a little background on maggie's situation. maggie is doing this as a last resort. maggie isn't new to collarme. maggie is a regular in chat and is gracious enough to op the room hours and hours on a daily basis. maggie had made plans for someone to help her but the other individual backed out on her at the last moment. maggie's Master is unable to help either because His home and belongings have been decimated by the hurricane. maggie feels very uncomfortable about approaching the board with this. she was only hoping that the community would help her instead of the negativity and bashing.

Thank you jill. I guess some of us are overly cautious for our fellow members. I was worried that she was moving to be with an online Master who wasn't interested in helping her. My feathers get ruffled if I think someone will be taken advantage of.

Jill, I don't feel anyone bashed her. I know I certainly wasn't.

Sometimes what we want to do and what we can do at the moment are two different things.
It sounds to me like now isn't a very good time to be trying to move when neither party has the means or capability to do so.

Just my opinion of course and since I am new here, maybe I don't know all the story. All I could comment on was what was posted.

I offered her help, jill. No, I didn't offer her money. No free ride, either. I offered her a possible solution. As did others. Is my suggestion "bashing" because it would involve work on her part? I don't think so. Not unless she's begging.

Now to give YOU some background: IMO, a sub is an adult. Adults do not ask strangers for "help" so they can meet their mate. My opinion won't change because you buy into the romantic/sentimental notion that some random union between subbie and master is going to be perfect--or forever.

bdsm requires more cold-eyed common sense than vanilla realtionships--not less. You yourself should know that very well.
