Status: offline 		I hate it that when we start writing our own music, our band is breaking up... Well, basically... Our Drummer just quit today. Anyone in the Central PA area that plays drums, and wants to join an 80s, 90's and today's rock band??  If so, Send me a message.  It would be great if you could sing too!

Oh bummer, sorry to hear that, I know how much that has an effect because I've had it happen to me every so often in the theatre with actresses, you get so far in a play, start working on the production side, setting up performances, etc and then someone quits.

This is so endemic that I'm considering a 28 Day Clause. That way if you want to quit, fine, but you give 28 days notice. If you don't, you're liable to cover the entire costs of the production.

Look at it this way, at least you've got a band (or almost a band), that is in itself a big achievement. Some people wait yonks before they even get half the band together.

Status: offline 		Thanks Stella.  It does suck.  But I think that he was just discouraged because he was to help us get our name out there.  We were a house band for a local Bar.  We played there once a month for like 5 months.  Then, last month, it burned down.  So at least we didn't have people Begging us to play, and we had to turn them down.  Now we are working on finding somewhere to take us in, and someone to join us.  It stinks sooo bad.  But at least the guy that quit had the PA system, and all that, plus got us the place to practice.  So we are out those things too.

Hugs for Sunshine, Faerie, Kali and all the others whose posts just made my heart ache.  God bless each of you with peace, quiet contentment in your day and in your spirit, and all the love you each so richly deserve.

I think Herman the Turtle will be okay, as he has pulled this stunt before.  He scares us all to death, not because he gets quiet and still, but because he seems to get an uggie eye, and crawls into a corner, where he can't really figure out where he's going, and stays there till you think he's kicked the bucket.  I gave him a little rinse off with some distilled water, and he opened his eyes (even the slightly puffy one), and peed on me.    That's some gratitude for ya.  (Bless his heart.)    I put him in his little water dish thing and dropped a few pellets in, and he ate them.  Thing 1 gave me a directive to make sure he was ok, so I am trying my best to do my duties to the best of my abilities.  I was left in charge of hamsters one weekend a few years ago, and when the Things came home, they were both dead.     (Bless my heart?)  Herman is about 3 1/2 years old and we got him when he was a baby-baby.  The guy who gave him to us worked in herpatology for the Smithsonian.  Herman was no bigger than a quarter at the time.  He's a bit bigger than a 50 cent piece now, and thicker.  He's kind of box turtle-ish, and way cool.  Doesn't give me any grief, just kinda hangs out and then goes and crawls under his mulch for a nap.

Status: offline 		My daughter had a hamster which was in one of those Habitrail plastic things.  He kept getting out & we would tape his escape route shut & he would find another one.  One night I had a friend staying with me & Chelsea was gone for the night.  The friend was having surgery the next day & was very nervous.  She went out on the balcony several times, leaving the sliding door open.  The next morning, I went to feed the hamster & he was gone.  I searched everywhere for him & of course he wasn't anywhere inside.  Finally, I went out onto the balcony, 3 floors up & closed my eyes, leaned over, opened one expecting to see squashed hamster guts & I saw a hamster down there happily eating weeds!!!  He survived the fall with no ill effects and lived another fairly long while!!

While talking she told me that she had to take her son out of 3rd grade because apparently there is a 3rd grand gang, for god sakes its the 3rd grade and in a rural school. He is now being home schooled with an accredited program. It came to a head when he came on using gang signs. Whats the world come to when you have to watch out for 3rd grade gangs. *sighs. My sweet grandfaeire who is in the the 1st grand ist affected ut who know what next year will bring.   Wha the world coming to that small children are forming their own gangs
