I went to donate blood yesterday and was "defered" because my hemoglobin was too low. 

That has never happened to me before.  I guess that I had better start taking a daily vitamin again.

Aylee...sometimes it is so low that a daily multi-vitamin will not help. Here it comes....call your doctor!!
A simple blood test will tell how low it is and what can be done about it. Generally it can be as simple as an iron tablet...but they have side effects (annoying...bathroom difficulities, stomach upset).

The above was the "nurse" in me talking. Now you hear from the weal twue holly: Stop on the way home and get a few bottles of red wine. A glass or two a night will help the low iron level. Red meat will as well, and the green leafies...although i would encourage you to Google iron-rich foods.

ETA...sometimes Anemia is a sign of something else going wrong. When i developed a bleeding ulcer a low iron level was the first sign. Don't mess around. If your iron level is low enough to cause fatigue...get thy ass to thy doctor.

Status: offline 		I wish I did, Holly...  they were great.  I think my aunt threw them away, along with all kinds of other stuff that my mom and I would have liked to have kept (christening gown, baby clothes, etc)
