Okay. . . I thought for sure that I spelled tourniquets correctly.  CRAP!

Any who. . . you take the turkey neck and you "Twist, twist, twist, till the bright red bleeding stops."

Actually they tell you not to use them anymore, because of the tissue damage and the ability to get a fast enough emergency medical response for the most part is not outweighted by that damage. 

Now. . . if you can only parse that last sentence.  I need more coffee.

Status: offline 		I was always told that most people do not know how to correctly use a tourniquet . That I do agree with and I'm one who forgot much of my first aid training and wouldn't attempt to use a tourniquet, too fearful of risking potential cell damage.

How are you?

I am not really sure, without doing some research, on all of the contraversy regarding tourniquets.  I think part of it was that they were used when not actually needed.  I am not positive if they are still being taught in first-aid classes, like Red Cross gives.

I get what you're saying YDD. Though I'd be more comfortable knowing that a person has some knowledge to using a tourniquet correctly. Say......someone who has some first aid training!

Status: offline 		CD.. the big boss has decreed that we are not allowed chairs at the desk anymore... there is a chair in the back hallway that has a small seat and straight (as in TOTALLY upright) back...within 30 minutes on that chair my back is screaming... I *need* to be able to slouch a bit (it's just the way my back is made..lordosis and scoliosis).
