I have yet to make it to a SF convention. I was going to go tot he Heinlein centenial a couple years ago. . . but things interferred. I had paid the fees and everything. *sigh*

I paid up fer 2 last year and didn't make either one. This one's looking good to me (again!)

Either conventions or a road trip or two. This year I'll squirreled away enough time to hop on the road...

I have gotten to take several trips this last year with work, so I suppose I really should not fuss. But I am determined to make it to the bbq-cook-off thingy this year in KC. I may have to wait a couple more years to make it to a sci-fi convention, but a bbq-thingy is definatly "family-oriented!" Have my family, my s-type's family, and a friend in new York's family (gives him an excuse to visit) and make it a fun time for all!

When's the BBQ bash? I've vowed to get more organised this year and start planning trips around events.

It is October 1 - 4. There is also a horse show and livestock and a rodeo.

Horse show! I love horse shows!!

I am SO sleeping for a week, Thorny! My parents are heading to Florida for a few weeks, so I will have AN EMPTY HOUSE!! Just me and the parrot! Most days, I will prolly not even get dressed!

Someone want to tell me once more why isolating on a mountain in Northern New Mexico with only the internet would be a bad thing?

I have come to the conclusion that I am not fit company for any form of intelligent species above that of a dog or horse..... and the horse would probably have reservations about calling me a friend.

Big time down in the dumps.... actually being down in the dumps would be three flights of stairs up from how I am feeling now.
