For a late snack tonight there are homemade Southwest Chipotle Tortilla Chips that are low fat and low sodium.

Low fat since they are corn tortillas that are baked with just a little butter flavored spray.  They are cut into 6 wedges and spread out on a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray.  Then the tops are sprayed lightly.

Low sodium since they are seasoned with a Southwest Chipotle seasoning blend that contains NO salt.  After being seasoned they are baked at 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.

This is a 3 point snack for 18 wedges made from 6 inch tortillas.

Iced tea, coffee, hot tea, or your favorite adult beverage.

Let's see ... you could have the Chipotle chips or Oreos with a glass of milk (for dunking) or a fried bologne sandwich.

Welcome back.
Good night, Boss.

Good Morning everybody.  Boss it's good to have you home again.

Small lecture this morning:

Stay healthy - WASH YOUR HANDS and stay away from sick people.
Help others stay healthy - Do NOT go to work or school when you are sick.

The flu virus is most commonly spread in liquid droplets made airborne by coughing or sneezing. Symptoms - such as fever, body ache, extreme fatigue, sore throat, and dry cough - begin showing in adults one to four days after being infected.

On average, 36,000 people in the United States die from all kinds of flu.  The 1918 flu pandemic 675,000 people in the U.S. died.

It has been 40 years since the last REALLY BIG flu

this girl is cleaning in the TV room - wiping down the tables and chairs ... cleaning the lamp shades and replacing incandescent light bulbs with the new energy saving CFI bulbs.

Are those the ones with mercury in them, that if you break them you have to clear out of the place for 15 minutes?

Good morning Aylee -

One CFL bulb contains about 4-5 milligrams of mercury ... about the size of a period at the end of a sentence. (old style mercury thermometers contained about 500 milligrams of mercury.)
[i personally would worry more about the cutting hazard of glass from a broken bulb around children and pets than the mercury.]

Here's the link to snopes.
http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/cfl.asp

We have lived around fluorescent bulbs in our kitchens and businesses for many years.  Some other products in the home containing mercury are - non-alkaline batteries, silent wall switches, gas range pilot light flame sensors, amalgam dental fillings and thermostats.

It's my opinion that a careful person does not break many light bulbs.  Most breakage occurs when changing the bulb and CFLs don't burn out as quickly as incandescent, so there will be fewer opportunities to break the bulbs.

Just my opinion and
