Status: offline 		Heat!  Icky!  And I am usually the one that is always too cold.  So today is Butterhead's birthday and we will be heading to go get an ice-cream cake after swimming lessons.  Ice-cream cake is an acceptable lunch, isn't it?  Unfortunatly because of the heat there will be no park time.  But she will be getting a wading pool for her birthday, so she can play in that.  I was planning to be the one to get her the pool, but the groundhog said that he was going to, so I told him to go ahead, I would think of something else.  ARGH!  Other than a purple boa and some silver bangles, I have no idea!  My parents sent a box with pressies in it for her, and I will let her open it today.  From the way my mother was talking, I think that there is a pair of those play heels in it.  I have NO idea of what else.  I am not even sure about that.  Her "children shall not be without shoes" great-grandma (my grandmother) sent a card with some money in it. . . of which I will save and wait until she sees something that she just HAS to have.  NOT another damn bouncy ball.  She has enough of those.  So. . . any ideas for a pressie for the little monster?

yes, rain...I did have a good time.  Spent a couple of days with my uncles and aunt, went up to Duluth and rode the bikes up along the N. Shore and then back to Cumberland.  Had a peaceful couple of days there...well, except for pulling and loading up the rear end from a 66 Riviera...and then headed down to the car show in the Twin Cities.  Over 11,000 hot rods, customs, restorations operating under the rules of "must be driven on the fairgrounds and during the show to remain a participant".  drooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!

Status: offline 		dress ups aylee. a box/basket/crate of all the wild, wonderful, tacky things you'd never be caught dead in. the more spangles and beads the better. costume jewelry, tacky bangles, huge hats. slinky hideous negligees. BEST EVER present i ever got my kids. kept them amused for years, and i regularly added and took things away.

Exxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxactly!!!!!  There is nothing quite like the sound of a blown big-block with headers partially uncapped to go with the smell of nitrous in the air.

I had seen you mention this before, I just have not had a chance to get to the thrift stores.  Perhaps we can go this afternoon, depending on the temperature.  She sure LOVES the silver bangles I got her.  Considering her ago, it will not really matter much if her pressie from me is a day or two late.  But thank you for reminding me about this, I will put it on my to-do list!

Status: offline 		Somehow in my advanced age I had forgotten the joys of having a child of less than 2 years in age around the house.....the noise can be deafening!...the smells atrocious....the energy undeniable....the smiles and giggles infectious....and I find myself worn out!....no wonder I stopped having children so many years ago!....Hope butterhead has a Great Birthday!!!!!

I think my Grandson has finally figured out who I am.....and he uses it to his best advantage.....

I know the feeling and can sympathize...my granddaughter is finally getting the idea that "gampa" is the guy who buys her hot rod shirts and a cool-looking hot wheels trike (based on Dora...) and who loves to ride her on his shoulders...for a bit.  Loves to chase her and let her chase me.  Leads one to end up a b it tired.

He sits and does a running monologue based on what Punky or Queenie are looking like and OMG, can He have me falling out of the chair. He nails the looks so perfectly. Now, just don't let Him give directions for driving after He's been drinking all night......    You have no idea where you'll end up at!
