speaking of delusions...

i'm seriously looking at getting a corset made for the other cm wedding of the year. it's got 16 steel bones, it's apparently about 16 inches in length from the highest point to the lowest point.

now, for my fellow "larger ladies", apart from not being able to breathe and having excessively good posture while i'm wearing it, what other hints, problems, etc can you tell me?

because i'll be moving a lot, i'm thinking of asking for straps of the same material to be put on (if the maker feels she can do it without ruining the look) so i don't feel like i will have to always be pulling it up; i'm looking for a delicate but striking black shawl that i can turn under my arms and pin in the back with a brooch (am looking for the perfect one) to essentially make a shrug. it will be late spring. i'm also going to ask to have a modesty panel put in on the back.

also, what looks best with a corset, a skirt? palazzo pants? nothing is NOT an option!

angel, i adore you, but please do not do the corset thing on your daughter's wedding day. Be beautiful, but be comfortable, as it will be a long day. There will be hugging and making nice with people you've not seen in awhile. Unless you're used to wearing corsets for extended periods of time... I find them "ugh, when can I get out of this"-ish. Emotions will be high, why put yourself through the additional discomfort of being dressed uncomfortably?

Angel...whereas i agree with Peaches that you need to be comfortable, i can also see your point.

May i make a suggestion? How about the corset under a formal suit (skirt and jacket). If, throughout the course of the evening you find it too uncomfortable, have a pretty camisole to change into. No one will really notice too much as you will be wearing a jacket.

No storms here, Peaches, though I wish it would. Muggy, humid, hot, bleccchhhhhh. At least a good storm would clear the air and hopefully cool things down a little. Weather report is calling for t-storms though. And here I was going to take Mr. Smarties to the Farmers Market this morning. Oh well, maybe not.

that's a good idea holly. frankly, i've never had the opportunity to spend a lot of money on myself, so i want to go all out on this.

i shall leave the beautiful attitude comment alone. when i say it to others, i mean it with my heart. when it's turned back on me, i shrink. no slapping the angel upside the head, though OK???????
