Actually we really don't shovel too much. The driveway is too big to even attempt it, so the most we do is the walk way and the porch. I am sure you have shoveled a flake or two though....

So then how do you get your car out....or do you?

I have shovelled a flake or two (snort) but I'm lucky. I live in an apartment building with a wonderful Super who shovels as soon as there is something to shovel. I've even seen him out in a snowstorm trying to keep up.

That would do it.....hopefully. The bigger problem around here is the lack of cleared sidewalks which means walking on the roads. Given the fact that most if not all drivers aren't exactly the most careful of drivers, it means taking our lives in our hands.

The snow which was really pretty last night turned to sleet at some point. There is now a half inch to an inch of ice on the steps and the porch. I used the ice chipper to do the lower steps and then stopped. That sucker is hard work. When/if the teen wakes up I shall send him out to do the lower porch and the upper steps. Thankfully the upper porch has a roof.

I'm out of shape, if chipping away at seven steps is that difficult.

yes...a plow attachment for the tractor, but it is really a waste of time unless there is a major snowfall and some sort of situation that dictates we must leave the house.

Blowing snow makes plowing/shoveling a waste of time, and getting to the barn to get the plow and attach it to the tractor can be impossible. Mostly though, if the weather is so bad that we need to plow out, we stay home.
