sirsholly ok...the kid woke up with a 102 temp, cough, watery eyes, runny nose, and as crabby as i have ever seen him.(So much for moms day out).

Jim instantly started to bitch at me because i did not get the LO's flu shots yet while at the same time turning on the computer to see that 800,00 flu vaccines have been recalled due to an ineffective strength, which means the flu virus will have to over ride the ineffective immunity of the shot and become a super virus. The way these vacinnes have been handled are an insult to ones intellect.
Excellent tactics - a perfect way to distract him from the mess you made with the car yesterday.

i thought so too. I just hope he doesn't open the trunk. He might be curious as to how the hell the muffler landed there

yah, the h1n1 was given at school, but he forgot to give me the permission slip and i didnt call or anything to get him in on th elist.....i may regret it later, but im not all that concerned at the moment.

One of the things I have not decided yet for when I have kids is about vaccines. I have read a lot of articals about ealry childhood vaccinations being linked to mental illness and major allergies later in life. Anyone else have info on that?
Off to try and get a nap in.

Here the H1N1 is reserved for high risk people only. Just not enough vaccines to go around. And there are shortages of the regular flu vaccine also. I got one of that but didn't get the pneumonia vaccine which lasts for about 10 years. Next year I'll get that also.

CS, about vaccines. The risks from the vaccines are far less than the risks from the diseases. And you can't count on herd immunity since so many people don't vaccinate their children either. In addition, if anyone they know has an autoimmune disorder, or is recovering from cancer treatment, or is simply quite elserly, an unimmunized child, even if they recover without difficulty can still transmit the illness.

Thus if you take your unimmunized child who is infectious but not yet showing signs of whooping cough to visit an elderly grandparent who then requires hospitalization - that would be your fault that they caught pneumonia as a secondary infection and died.

There is no proven causal relationship between vaccines and anything else. And in a world where our water and air are full of pollutants, it is not possible to identify solely one ingredient in a vaccine as causing autism, or anything else. The most informative research on autism I know shows a link between it and age of father at birth.

i have vaccinated him.....AND he ended up getting the varicella thing too.....but im very much opposed to not allowing children to get the pox on their own at the age they are supposed to get it.....the vaccine hasnt been proven to be life long....so what, they get the pox as young adults and then risk all the side effects like strerility and death....sigh. This could go back and forth forever......everyone has a thing about the flu shots too....they are convinced that they literally get sick from the shot...cant happen...but consistantly thats what i hear, over and over again.....i dont do the flu shot annually because i just choose not to....h1n1 was the one thing i was going to do for myself and for the oo...however, i ended up deciding not to press it when he missed it in school. i wont get it as im home for the rest of the year it looks like...Uncle Arthur is kicking my ass too.....but as for things like MMR....its mandatory and a good idea, so its done.....but i do tend to not medicate oo.....this year, was the first time hes had an ABX since he was 18 months....and hes 7......i tend to let things run their course until it becomes an actual medical issue.....but thats just me and im not going to go dig up all the research on the reasons why.....if im wrong, im wrong.

This was not directed at anyone in particular, it was just a rant.....i need a cuppa and a nap, but not going to get the nap....

There are vaccines not recommended for my monster with his disability, medications he takes, etc. He will not be getting the H1N1 vaccine. His tolerance for such things won't allow it. It would simply make him sick.
