If he says no, then tell him that obviously he doesn't want them so you'll throw them out and immediately go get a trash bag. If he goes for it, then you have Jim take them to the Salvation Army the next day. But I'm betting you will only have to do it once and from then on he will clean up.

Just make sure his favorite stuffed animal for sleeping doesn't get in there.

that is great advice, Celeste. The only thing the threats were doing were making me more frustrated, and adding to his little determination to do as he pleased. I am going to change his nicname to "IronWill"

Yup.  Never threaten a kid. Tell them what to do and then punish them if it's not done.  They have more energy than you and will grind you down if things don't happen right away.

Status: offline 		littleboss acted up in school two years ago and continued to do so despite everything.

he came home from the park one day to find his entire room empty except for his bed, blanket, pillow and the monkey he slept with.

he had to earn back every single toy one at a time....and would then lose what he earned back if he backslid....it took a few months, but he still remembers it....

We all know that didnt change most of his behaviors but thats for other reasons....but the image of his stripped room is still with him to this day.;;;fwwiw.
