I guess it depends upon what your definition of "this" is?

At a guess, if you're talking about living a 24/7 D/s lifestyle, then I would answer your question: "Yes. It is too much to ask."

The lifestyle requires a dedication to some principles that just to don't fly in "the real world". Not many people will buy into what it is some of us do. The idea of a relationship that isn't a "partnership" is offensive to some people (personally, I notice that most of those people are actually involved in FLRs, if you take the time to examine and recognize it).

Some of that bleeds over into people that actually do espouse this lifestyle, but if you "scratch the surface" you'll see people that aren't really into the lifestyle, they're kinky. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. It's just that being kinky doesn't necessarily translate into 24/7 behavior.

D/s is who some of us are. BDSM is what some of us do. There's a wide chasm of divide.

you found that out to as well huh?

I haven't lived with any of my BDSM relationships but I still had them. when women realize the kind of relationships I have had they are dumbfounded and they seem to take offence that I don't choose equal partner relationships and they keep asking me how is the sex.

Yes, it is too much to expect everyone to see "this" in the same way you see "this." My partner and I have a lot of fun together. If it weren't fun we wouldn't bother to do it at all. There are a lot of times in our lives when we need to be serious. The serious part has mainly to do with doctor things and how to stay as healthy as possible. Life would be very boring and dull if I had to be serious in my relationship all the time. We laugh a whole lot and that is the way we like it.

It is only too much to ask of 'people'. Is it 'not' too much to ask of a partner. That is simply a matter of compatibility. Find one who is as serious as you in those things which are most important to you.

I totally agree with Michael. This lifestyle is what you are seeking. Everyone is looking for something different. When you can identify what your needs are, then you can better connect with another. I, unfortunately have to many interests/fantasies for one person to handle. LOL Therefor I am looking for multiple persons to fulfil my needs and desires. I am secure with myself, nd my Sir. He loves the fact that I am whom I am. I took a lot of soul searching to find the one that is Ok with whom I am. I am one of the luck ones....

90% of these people are not serious.I am glad you came to realize this.

Most are just bored at home living out some computer world fantasy.Most will never leave their computer chair.

Good luck to you because you will need it if you want a real solid D/S Partnership.

I found most vanilla woman are much more serious in real life.

Who wants to be serious when having fun it so much better. I am so glad I'm with a Dom who likes to have fun and laugh and has a great sense of humor. Being serious is overrated. By the way, mine is not a computer chair relationship. We've been 24/7 for over 11 years now. We've had our ups and downs health wise but still joke around and try to make it all fun.

Here's the thing...it's the internet. It's impulses and ether traveling down a wire. You shouldn't take it seriously.

Get out to events, find reality. I think you'll find it a much more fulfilling experience.

There is no discrepancy between it being a partnership and him having the deciding vote should we disagree.

We are partners. I am equal in value, not in authority.
