Ok...here's something you haven't seen before.  For all of you who love both whips and electric play and wanted to combine the two I am now offering CONDUCTIVE Snake Whips.
http://thewhipchick.com/catalog.htm

These are whips first.  They are constructed as I construct all of my whips.  The addition of the conductivity makes these whips unique in the scene.  Grab the body contact for your violet wand and watch the sparks fly!

Thank you!  I was so excited when the prototype was finished Friday night.  It's pretty amazing to watch sparks actually come off the cracker (which, by the way, the whip cracks as good, if not better, than all my whips) onto the back of the volunteer :).

It is an interesting idea.  I'd love to see one in action.  It would seem that you are using the conductive body contact pad on the VW to transmit the charge from the VW to the person holding the whip (the whipcracker), thru the whipcracker to the whip, which has a conductive element braided into it, from the whip to the cracker at the end of the whip, and from the cracker to the recipient?  Did I get that right?

Yep. That's the path of the electricity :)

So the "cracker" is live all the time the violet wand is on.  That isn't really a problem, I guess the holder of the whip can just drop the contact pad to stop the electricity.  Do you have any concerns about electricity crossing the heart?

If the weilder of the whip lifts their fingers from the contacts, the whip is no longer electrified.
If you play with a bottom with heart issues, I don't recomment violet wand play, but those are personal issues and not something anyone other than the players can say "yea" or "nay" to.
The charge coming off this whip is no different than the charge coming off any other violet wand toy.

The first review from a user of the prototype:

N is pretty good with a singletail, so he did the functional testing of how well the whip behaved with the copper threading added into it, and he pronounced it perfect. Said it behaved just like a non-conductive toy... no additional stiffness and he could be just as precise as a regular whip. I then hooked him up Indirect and let him test drive the electrified singletail on his slave Z, and she LOVED it. Said it was an extra bit of "heat" and "bite" on top of a normal singletail effect. After N got going, we turned off some of the lights and could really see the sparks fly with each strike on Z's back. We had the wand turned up reasonably high, however, to get a good zap going down the whip.

I meant the contacts on the whip, not the contacts on the wand...sorry if that wasn't clear :)

Whip Chick:  Its not the bottom I'm worried about, its the TOP!  I just want to make sure I know what's going on if I try one of these, and for some (not all, you are correct) electricity crossing the heart is a danger.  That is why I was so precise in figuring out how the electricity flows from the VW to the tip of the whip.  I'm wondering if I strapped the contact pad onto my right arm, and then held the whip, if I'd eliminate the x-body issue.  I have to think that one thru.  Anyway, I hope you have great success with this, and I'd love to see a video of it in use.

hmmm....I know that when we tested it personally (the review was done by testers at a party last night that I did not attend), my partner held the body contact in his left hand and held the whip in his right.  I see no reason why if you have the type of body contact that can be placed rather than held, that it couldn't be put on the same side of the body as your whip hand.  The vw we used to test it is a very old one and the contact has to be held in the hand.  I'm a whip plaiter and thrower, not a vw player LOL.  My friend put the bug in my ear on Friday about a conductive whip and that's what I worked on.  When it conducted as it does I was ecstatic, but I fully admit to not completely understanding vw play :).

If you have trouble with electricity crossing the heart, do you use a body contact at all? The whip is no different than any other toy used with a body contact...except that you can lift your fingers from the contact points on the whip and it is no longer going to conduct (most of the contact toys I've seen do not have a place to grip the toy where it isn't electrified).

If you have heart problems you should probably not be playing w/ a violet wand.  But, people w/o heart problems, insulin pumps, etc shouldn't need to worry about voltage entering one hand and going out the other.  Violet wand demonstrators to it all the time.

Thank you Saratov :).  Like I said, I'm a whip plaiter and thrower :).  Hope you are still enjoying your whips :).

Conductive flogger whips for use with violet wands have been availe in the UK for at least 5 years,  and are even seen for sale on ebay quite regulary so it is nothing new to us in the UK.  The states must be quite a way behind the UK if they are a new thing to you. LOL

This isn't a flogger, it's a single tail whip.

Shareinnc,
I was at a party recently and had the opportunity to test this device (I'm assuming it is one of yours but cannot be sure) and I have to agree it acts and feels just like a non-electric single tail.  There were no problems with accurate strikes, it was very pliable and there was no shock to me as the user, however my victim felt the effects.  I love this peice and will be adding it to my personal collection ASAP.  Just thought I would share my opinion.

Emperor1956, as others have said, if you don't have problems it should not be a problem. If you are worried, however, your idea of putting the body contact pad/probe on your arm will work and work well. Not only does it avoid any potential issue of crossing the heart and damage to the sinoatrial node, it can also let more "zap" through as well. FWIIW, when I use my tongue as conductor, much as fingertips, I place the contact on neck or shoulder for those reasons. That said, I have done it from waist through fingertips in play and in classes and seminars I have taught, and have never had a problem because the frequency of the charge tends to keep in on or near the surface.

That is just awesome.  I have envisioned a design for years that is electrified, though my idea was to use a stun gun at the handle with nodes spaced down the length of the whip with each node being an alternating polarity.  Wrap and hit the button :)  I'd like to see one longer than 4' however, though I know that is a popular indoor style.

If you want one longer, contact me.  Since I custom make every one of them, I can make them any length you like.
