If it pleases you i would beg to offer

I wonder if the the role of editor can be seen as something akin to secretary.   In my day to day life i attend meetings with my clients about things that define and contribute to their livelyhood. Now where i have my opinion and can offer my own ideas, my job in this role is to transcribe the data of the majority into a single statement that will be used to answer the question:
"What does X do?"
I do not feel that i am using my own words at all, in fact its a lot of "copy/paste.. insert comma, insert period".
There is some sort of trust that the client puts in me to NOT change things around to suit myself.
Is this type of trust not something that should be afforded to a woman of Gor?
It is for sure not up to me to decide, and i do beg your mercy if my previous post was out of place for me.

An editor is far more than a secretary, determining what gets published and what gets cut (not to mention rewritten, often to what the original author thinks means something different).

This would be a difficult position for a slave. Certainly some slaves and Free women too possess the skills, but I believe Bull is looking ahead to predictible clashes if a woman is editing a Gorean man on a Gorean board.

That said, Mod 6's rules clearly leave the position open to all Goreans, and especially given that Mod 6 has earned a lot of respect here, I'm sure we'll all try to help whatever happens work well.

I thought the same thing, edana. It's why I asked if a slave might be considered for the role; it wouldn't be a task of pushing one's ego onto the community, it'd be a task of paring down, editing, and incorporating the excellent work of others. To whit, I would hope a slave would have less of a personal interest in pushing their agenda onto the vast ignorant masses of us BDSM folk.....

Be careful girl, I noticed your tongue and cheek solitication over there---->(the other thread)........I assure you that I wouldn't be afraid to slap your ass....and .........nevermind, just thinking out loud.

You have a valid point. but before I posted that, I went and looked up the definition of editor, I wanted to insure I had a clue at least from Websters point of view what our CM braintrust had in mind. I have no insecurities that women will take over Gor, 6 would ban them first(humor). But like Tim pointed out, it lends to credibility, of the FAQ, this forum and the Goreans here. Imagine what the dagger boards comments would be if we had "women thinking for us".

Now I am not one for playing to the crowd in most cases, but this is important, in the fact, how often do you catch Goreans standing together on anything that would hold them accountable as a collective. This will be the FGA(frequently given answers) of the Goreans here, and in having them edited and published tendsa to make them ours and something we may be expected to stand with. Like it or not, the definition of homestone may not be a far fetched notion when men stand togther. Not to imply that is what is going on here, but just think about it, a man's words, his hearts convictions, joined and to be defended. To me, this is a serious venture. Perhaps I'm just loon, but I take my beliefs very serious. If I intend to stay and contribute, I believe it is more than a secretaries job, it should be the best of "OUR" Scribes that we can recruit.
