Tal and Greetings,

Today I was talking with some friends about Companionship and the differences between that, and the owning of property. How there are many levels of slavery ie: kettle slave, love slave etc. We discussed the fact that each Man handles his Own differently. What came up in this little conversation that I found intresting was the vass difference that people see in the dynamics of a Companionship and how a Woman is treated. The question I posed was this..

We know that a Man is not "always" is in love with his slave, some are mearly workers or what have you.
However, does a Man always love his Companion?
Are there different levels of Companionship just as there are in a  Master slave relationship?
In the discussion many things were brought up in this regard. The reason for Companionship, was it a slave Master relationship that evloved to Compaionship, was the vow taken for the sake of properties, on and on.

Im curious as to how others feel about this. Do you love your Companion, Do you love your Companion as you love your slave? or is it a different kind of love?

We all know a Free woman that enters into a Companionship is a "kept" woman and remains free by His grace.

Things that make you say "Hrrmmm"

When all's said and done, I am but a woman.

Well wishes,
Tasia

Greetings Mistress.

In the books there was arranged Companionships, so i guess they do not always start whit love. i begun as a man's fiancee, his companion. Now we found one another and agreed to be together, we were not in love, but both of us wanted a companion, somone the share our life whit. i personally do not think there must be romantic love between two Free Comapanions. i think there just must exisit respect and a feeling of care for one another, so that the two can be a suport to one another as they walk through life together. After all, is that not what a companion is, somone to share your life whit and give and get suport from.

May i wish you well Mistress.

not all companionships in the books were arranged..Kamchak took the freewoman Aphris to campion.. *mind you he made her a slave first..I think that was always his intent*.
