pearldoe,
It is understandable to want to tell your story and "warn" others.
Remember though, just like there are predators out there like the one we encountered so will there be an uncaring apathedic crowd that mocks you for doing so.

You were seeking a need for love and control. That is what all people do, they seek to meet their needs. Some do it honorably, some criminally and others somewhere  inbetween. It sucks to be fooled and even more by a socialpath but it's life and a chapter we can't change.

pearldoe you have a good heart so forgive yourself  now and grow from here. I know you'll do things differently now, as will I. We all live and learn, eh?

He will not see the light of day for a very long time (Goddess willing) so take comfort in that and know your submission and service is beautiful.

What you are doing now is reminiscent of Sentor McCarthy, clutching a fistful of papers and crying "I have a list of names of communists in this country" but refusing to say who.

How did you know that I was going to bring that out if this drama continued?!?!?!  Thanks for being the historian tonight!

Anytime!

And when someone reports you as having done something what checks and ballances are in place to protect from false accuations???????????

Who gets to sit on the board that decides what is abuse and what is not???
Who gets to sit in judgement?

What are the standards we now have codified so we can make the choice to be within the "LAW" or transgress?????

Never get an aswer to these questions from those calling for enforcement.

I must admit i agree with Archer here....who gets to sit and judge these types of things? Are W/we not more responsible of O/ourselves than to think that there is a need to be "protected" by others in this fact. It to me is common sense that you don't give out identifying information to someone that you don't know. like CM says.....

quote:

3) Do not give out your personal information such as your instant messenger ID, email address, or phone number to users you just met online. Scammers will often try to take your conversation with them off the site quickly, often including their email address in the first message they send to you. The safest approach is to keep your conversations with unfamiliar users within the Collarme messaging system until you know them better.

5) Our very best advice: Don't send money to strangers!

So with that.....i bid thee adue.....

Yay!  I love links to real news stories.
However, this could have been any situation.  A scammer is a scammer whether or not he uses bdsm as a lure, or the guise of a christian gentleman looking for love.
Warning people online there is a scammer is sort of redundant.
Assuming people are who and what they say they are without verifying is not wise.
I have met a lot of people and I can tell you, I have never been scammed successfully.  Of course this could stem from my natural resistance to trusting anyone until I KNOW them enough to trust them.  And that includes, family, friends, acquaintences, and strangers who speak to me online.
If more people withheld the desire to believe anything there would be a lot less people making successful scams.
The problem with scams is that it does take at least two, to participate.
Good to see he got some jail time though!

LOL I was going to say that when it involves a money scam, most people would view that as a horror story.  However, since many people are into financial dominantion, I can see your point.
<g> Still.. the law and order lady inside me is glad to see a scammer get caught!  Pity they get so little time.

I have been conned myself.

Their are two kinds of cons:

1.  Promise something ridiculously better than what is otherwise available (in this case, the nearly perfect man).

2.  Convince you you are responsible for something you didn't do (example:  guy steps out and pretends to be hit by your car)

To avoid the first  con, don't be greedy and check into something that looks too good to be true.
To avoid the second, if someone claims you did something negligent, double check.

I still live in Evansville.

"After the sentencing, Grampp said that because of the nature of the women's relationships with Anderson, he, prosecutors and police 'had a hard time figuring out where the voluntary acts ended and the involuntary acts began.'"

There was also the fact that the one of the unnamed women in the story had an active profile on CollarMe while the investigation was on-going.

I think that is E-ville cop code for "things like this are just to freaky for our neck of the woods and so....ummmm......we just don't really deal.......and since we'd much rather not do actually investigation/cop work......we'll......just......muddy it up together and ummmm hope for the best....."

File a police report if he has done something illegal.

If you want to garner support, provide proof of what he did, his name on cm, and the names of the people he scammed.  Some will support you, others will trash you, but please drop the drama.

ok, that *is* freaky. I lived there before HM found me and brought me here. I did have one lady from there who was very persistant about me meeting her 'master'. They were gonna open up some kind of b&d b&b.

PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!! Today I am on a mission....It is time that we as a community stand up and start policing ourselves....We must stop those who use this lifestyle to prey on others!!!!!!! Part of this insert is from another women whom has fallin victim to this mans' con and she has givin me permission to repost. "...i realize when i am done some will say how stupid i am...how desperate... how much a fool i am.....but i do not care how anyone views me at this point.....all i care about is possibly saving another woman from hurt and harm. What I am about to quote is part of his con "Recently i started talking with a man on Collarme who wrote to me....we exchanged many emails on Collarme and then on Yahoo and chatted online on messenger. we then began talking everyday...several times a day on the phone. He was extremely charming and seemingly knowledgeable about this lifestyle. The one thing that made him different was his approach.... he stressed that he was very old fashioned and over protective and he liked to court a woman. He was a man of charac
ter that spoke several different languages, Japenese and Russian to name a few. The story he told was good....he had been married for 20 plus years and his wife had died a few years ago and now he was ready to find a mother for his children. He said how he did not believe how lucky he was to finally find someone he was so attracted to who could be the light of his life who spoke to his heart." He has used the sisterhood of slaves to garner information from us in pretending to be a slave in disguise until he gained our trust and profiled everything about us and other times he approached us as a Master. He is a sociopath/pschopath . PLEASE PLEASE Be aware I am not alone in this as there have been a multitude of women that he has either been in contact with or fallin victim to his scam which has resulted in many losses financially, mentally and even physical abuse. If you feel you have been there with us in this con even if your ashamed to admit it as there is no shame in wanting or needing what you desire to be fullfilled in your life as he uses that to get to you, we are reaching out to others in our time of bringing men like him to justice. SISTERHOOD lets stand up and say we aren't going to take it anymore and stop PREDATORS like this by turning witness against them.

omega,

A good point that your making but we are are sponsible to ourselves for watching out.

To happens to the"D" side also/ I have had two "Play Misty for Me"interactions in the past so I am hyper careful.

I have unfortunately seen both sides of the predator coin. On the one hand I was in a bad situation myself and did not fully realize the extent of the situation until I got out of it. That person was a predator.

On the other hand, I have seen a true Master be called a predator publicly online by people who had never met Him and had made up their mind based only on 3rd hand hearsay which was untrue.

I think there SHOULD be some sort of recourse within the lifestyle to bring people up on complaints, but that should be A) used very carefully and only with due proof and B) should be able to be used when people defame one unjustly also.

I'm certain this isn't going to be the popular opinion.. but its mine.  Please understand I'm never going to refuse to help anyone, but here is how I feel.

There is recourse, its called the police, or moving out, or finding a shelter, or reaching out to friends and family -- ultimately, this kind of stuff makes me crazy.  I have all the sympathy in the world for people who are genuinely taken in by people but in the end, everyone is responsible for themselves!

There are so many sites, and so many places here where, if for some reason you have your head buried and you don't know it, you can find all kinds of information on taking precautions.  Its usually pretty basic and simple and it starts with, don't give people money, don't give up your own means of being independent (at least immediately -- I know how M/s often works) and use some basic common sense.

Personal responsibility

yes, help those in need, I will always do that, but I would prefer people take care of themselves first

and I suppose that's a bit off the subject, but if predators didn't find new victims every minute, they might give it up

Do not feel alone!  Men can become the same prey to women, I just got out of a relationship on here where a woman told me pretty much the same thing, she was going through financially hard times and wanted to start a new life with me, well long story short I spent around a thousand dollars in supposed gas money to figure out she was just scamming me! I will never send anyone money again and have learned a valuable and expensive lesson! I know what you are saying about wanting to fulfill your desires and it was a major driving force for me to do what I did and ultimately led to major heartbreak! baby jerry
