Greetings Masters,
Greetings Mistresses,
Greetings to those who serve,

Although this girl is new to this board, she is not new to CM nor to the Gorean concepts et al.  The girl writes this to introduce herself specifically on this board, as she frequents no other boards, but did post an introduction on the introduction board as well.

The girl seeks this forumn for one reason, the very same reason she seeks Gorean ways in the first (and last) place... to simply learn to be a better slave for her Owner. The girls Owner, who incidentally does not profess to be Gorean, has many Gorean traits.  The girl has read all the books through, in order, one time, and is in the process of going back through the books a second time, gleaming them of anything that may be brought into real life, specifically by a slave, and this slave is then forming of thesis of such.  Would such a thesis be of value to others?  Also, the girl would appreciate any helpful advice on the thesis, and also seaks an editor for the thesis, once it is completed.

In gratitude,
{kateryn}SME

Hello Kateryn,

Pretty name by the way. I'm wondering what you're asking specifically. It could be that it is nearly midnight here and I'm waiting for midnight meds, but it also could be that the questions you've posed are not clear. It sounds like you intend to write a paper aka a thesis with points on Gor taken from the books but relating directly to application in life offline. You're doing this for what purpose? Self-improvement? A project for your Owner? A project for school? For a paper/ezine? What ideas do you need more information about, and have you gone to the search function up in the right upper corner of this page to see what topics are already documented and more than commented? By the way if you're using quotes from people on these boards for anything other than personal use or use on the boards here, I would recommend writing those people to seek permission to quote them. It is a polite choice to make though not necessary since most use either first name only or screen name. What would the duties of the editor you need be? How long do you expect your paper/thesis to be?

Welcome to the forum,
K

Greetings karynn,

Thank you for your reply and your compliment.  The girl is doing exactly what you propose she is doing:

In answer to your questions... the girl is writing this paper solely for her own uses, but perhaps also to share with those who also seek the answers she has sought for the last year or more.

The girl will only include points from the books, directly and quotes from the books... exactly as the author has stated them with reference to book and page.  The girl does not necessarily seek more information, but her question is specifically, would such a thesis, with references and quotes be of value to anyone but herself?  Yes, the girl has read some but not all of the recent posts on the board, she has searched certain things, in interest of topic only.  She does not intend to quote anyone here, perhaps she will use some of the ideas from previous posts to expand on points the books bring out, paraphrasing in her own words without any plagerizing.

The duties of the editor will be for grammer and readability, sentance structure, spelling, etc.  The editor may make suggestions on how better to word something, and perhaps tips on what to expand on, etc.  So far, the thesis is with extensive quotes going on 30 pages and the girl is only on book five in her gleaning. So, how many quotes is too many, may also be a question for the editor to answer, once the girl has found someone willing to take on that tedious task.

Thanks again,

{kateryn}SME
