I agree with you, however, my question is, what exactly would you like to see done? Inform others about these people? Shun them? monitor them and then turn them in the next time they do such a thing?

Fast reply: I am not the most tolerant person, but people can do as they wish. I am an asshole, I am an insensitive prick, I also believe my way is superior for me. If someone feels they know who they are, and that is where they are comfortable, then great for them. I still reserve my rights to be an asshole, insensitive prick, and comment on them if broght to my area. I do not go into the other sections and insult those in that area because of what they are doing. How many times do any of the Living Gorean posters go into other sections of this forum and insult those there? How many times do non-Goreans come here and be insultive? So exactly who is showing tolerance and respecting boundries? Orion

The BDSM boards themselves arent exactly a petrey dish of open mindness, tolerance, and acceptance when it comes to other people's kinks and lifestyles that fall under that BDSM umbrella.

Notice the words 'Fast reply', which usually means you are not addressing anyone. I was not defending a thing, I was making a statement. When I am defending, I am a ruthless bastard, rather than an asshole, insensitive prick. Also, I may feel shame on rare occasions but not guilt. Guilty and pity are wasted emotions. You can't fairly say that "those trolls" represent the BDSM community any more than it is reasonable to say that the "Gorean Masters" who are misbehaving themselves over on our side represent your community.

[Yup--this is an example of a fast reply, addressed generally] Periodically we see a wave of people who have decided it's Gorean bashing time. I roll my eyes every time, in particular at the pointlessness of it all (and, as others have noted, plenty of criticism to go around on the BDSM side) given that I'm certainly not at all at war with non-Goreans. Yeah, a few self-proclaimed Goreans like to dance around chat rooms and try to throw around weight, but this is nothing I take seriously, and I wonder why people don't just ignore them (but then, I don't take chat rooms seriously anyway). But also we continually reread the thoughts people feel are unique and insightful, when they just endlessly repeat what others and we ourselves have said. "Norman's not a great writer." Duh. Point? "How can you live your life according to a set of fiction?" Perhaps you've noticed we're not exactly lock-step over here. Maybe my favorite: "Well, I haven't read the books, but here's my opinion on Gor--" Yeah. Brilliant. Read Proust. Brilliant writer. Or better yet, just give us your take without bothering to read. Or perhaps go watch TV. Just a thought.

Yes, the trashing is cyclic, and like rolling a snowball in a sticky snow, one or two auslanders come to Jesus as it were...... Now, Goreans(or the akin in thought) do not fall from heaven or well up from the ground but they come by ones and twos. Many traps are sprung for the hunter, and no quarry is in the trap, and crows and squirrels sit in the trees and scold. Shoot the bastards if they continously spoil the hunting, but usually by sitting still and ignoring or quickly shushing them they lose interest and slink away. I am hunting slaves, that is my purpose, and not one of TU QUOQUE........ My perspective, at least. Hup the Fool (and the great and mighty hunter)
