This is my first post here so I beg your indulgence. I too, have constantly had this problem. Am I a free woman..(sometimes I am and sometimes I'm not) or am I his slave(sometimes I am and sometimes I'm not)? I know how I feel in my relationship with my master, but it seems so contrary to how reality must be 24/7.

Backing away a bit from pushing this "madonna/whore" projection onto the Free Woman versus slave girl issue, the position of the books, as it seems to me, is that not only is there a free woman and a slave in every female, she is both at the same time. The paradox of the Gorean collar is that it frees a woman; the paradox of being Free is that it limits her freedom. Either way, she is both free and enslaved.

I agree with your take, for the most part. Here's a similar angle on the same:

Some women are, due to cultural inheritance, sufficiently inhibited in their own sexuality that they aren't actually free, so making them into kajirae in order to free them from their inner bonds isn't really an affront to their freedom- which they didn't possess in the first place- provided one bears in mind the point of the exercise. In this, xoxi has pretty much marked herself for a Voyage of Acquisition, though I suspect FC is where she belongs in the end.

I just had this conversation with him last night. He basically said "you're my slave and I won't think of you as anything else but you can call yourself whatever you want if it makes you feel better"
I think it's just the word 'slave' that bothers me...the word has so many connotations...just like the word 'slut' - that word does bad things to my head and so I suppose does the word slave.

At the moment my man and I are long distance...I have a feeling I'll be able to feel it even more deeply when he's able to put his hand in my hair and put me on my knees.

Also anyone planning any voyages of acquisition please make sure to pick up my man along the way...he would be quite angry if anyone else got to break me before he did
