Tal all,
I keep reading these posts, many of which start out as thoughtful interesting ideas and spiral down to pissing matches or some that just start out as pissing matching and I have to wonder why we are doing this? Some people are just way too needy for attention here and when we start the pissing match or continue the pissing match we merely validate their existance.
Please can we stop feeding the damn monkeys? We know who they are, and if we do not respond they will go away! These are simple social skills people! Let's be careful out there!
Thank you for listening.
Y

Greetings ygraine
message received and noted...except some of them won't go away and just continue to hang about (like the aforementioned monkeys) and throw bananas at the rest of us. heh heh

Tal Ygraine,

I do not share your view that Free Men who stand up to defend Gor against hateful characterizations, and who speak up to maintain this forum as a source of valid information for those who come here to learn about Gor, are engaging in an activity that deserves to be demeaned as a "pissing match".

IWYW,

Kirata

Tal Kirata,
I agree and I see what you are saying, I am referring to the threads that spiral into name calling and chest beating when in fact there are plenty of ways to prove a point without dissolving into either.  I also believe it is a good idea to ignore the pests rather than to feed their pathologies.
My humble opinion only: I would not suggest that intelligent counter-arguments (many of which you have written and I have admired) are pissing matches..  I am saying though, there is a certain type of post that is better off ignored, and we are better people for ignoring it.

Greetings Y,

Yeah I have been ignoring alot of threads lately because they are dominated by non-Goreans, slave silly talk, or bullshit. Most I even thought of commenting on, were handled by other Gorean Free, so it saved me the time.

Actually, the recent... ahem... contributions?... have made an interesting (for me) point regarding an earlier discussion. The posts in question should neatly illustrate the difference between the things CelticLord2112 was accused of, and what he actually did, as well as the relative willingness to bicker vs answer. In any case...

Good evening Ygraine,

I stated this in another thread awhile ago. It is posts as of late that i have seen a drast decline in Men allowing their slaves to post any longer....hell, i don't even see some of the Gorean Men posting much any longer. Kind of makes a person think........

Hope you enjoy your evening,

~smilezz~

Those who do not post are not alone in having thought the thoughts that led to that course of action.

I know what you mean, and we've all fired back at one of those anyway. It's an interesting, if not entirely clearly defined, distinction. I think most drive-by bashers are met with the usual yawn. But ideas presented in the mix of responses to a Gorean issue are easily perceived by readers as all equally valid if none are challenged. We challenge each other! The standard of intellectual honesty here is no different for visitors.

your right in what you say but sometimes  I see something and send a reply such as the princess thing ,

but yes I see people  and myself included  who add to posts what we really should just ignore .

Tal Kirata,

My apologies for the poor choice of words.

The tone I used did not communicate what I had intended to say.

IWYW,
al-Aswad.
