Willowmoon -> Outfits for under $100? (11/7/2007 4:18:20 AM)

Okay I have seen a lot of links to nice outfits on this site but a lot of them are very expensive so I thought that I would start a thread where we can post cheap/budget outfit ideas.

The aim of this thread is suggestions for party/club outfits under $100 (Not including shoes) for either male or female and assuming that the person needing the outfit has very limited sewing skills.

Two of my ideas.

1. I found Master a gorgeous pirate shirt made out of cheesecloth (We live in a fairly hot humid climate so cheesecloth is awsome) that looks really nice with black jeans or pants and belt. Total cost of outfit? Pants were $30 (when we needed to get him a new pair) belt was his existing belt and the shirt was $30 = $60

2. I bought some pretty fabric and made a sari out of it. Pretty, elegant and easy access for Master. Cost of fabric was $40

sometimes it takes time for threads to gain momentum.  the last couple of parties ive been to i have worn a medium short red skirt and sexy black blouse.  *at this point I would much rather buy toys then fetish wear.*

sari's are sexy looking, and so easy to do!  have you thought about taking sewing classes? or maybe see if there is anyone who could teach you/help you make stuff.

this is a good idea for a thread, for fun and fetish clothing of any sort it's a 200 mile round trip for us. the cheesecloth pirate shirt is a way cool idea. with my first sub I had a Chinese "kung fu suit" (loose trousers and high stock collar) worn with a yellow sash, I think it cost me $20.00 at the time.

There's a high style vintage clothing store near you- it's called the Goodwill.

Learn to sew. There is no more useful skill for the thrifty yet style concious, and actually it's very easy. Get a machine and a book and you'll be making couture cocktail dresses in no time. I didn't take classes- they just ruin creativity in sewing classes. Get all the books on Coco Chanel there are out of the library and learn what it means that "Mademoiselle could cut"

Remember- outfits are not bought by the outfit. They are bought by filling a closet with carefully edited pieces. A well broken in $100 leather corset is worth every penny when you calculate wearings and kink factor. All it needs is a denim mini, an arm full of bangles, you can go anywhere.

All a sub needs is some fabulous lingerie- and it's Xmas so WalMart et al has the really good stuff now. Wear that leopard spot silk bathrobe with a wide '80's cinch belt like a Von Furstenburg wrap dress, with heels and a clutch, shed it, then recover in it. We love the Hugh Hefner look at my club.

I think you'd be suprised sometimes by what you might find in army surplus stores if you're into uniforms.  The same goes for job specific or hobby type clothing like nursing (scrubs), surfing (rubber), the clearance racks at your local fetish store, get creative.

Or you could wait for people who are dropping out of the Scene to sell their entire collection including clothes and jewelry.  I've listed almost everything of mine under the sought/for sale forum.  There are dresses, a corset, a long cape, skirts, tops, latex, leather and lots more.  There's even ankle length ballet boots in size 13 for a sissy. . .

I've found some really amazing things at thrift stores. And 'outfits' are really more what you throw together on your ownsome. Of course, having one or two things of high quality (and therefore high price) to really hit it home can be lovely too.

A micro mini (with no panties, of course) and a decorative bra makes for a nice, low cost kink outfit.

It's all about building a versatile closet. Granted I'm a dyke leather daddy so my outfits tend to be a bit more expensive, but 4 or 5 versatile items can make or break an affordable wardrobe.

I've found that a basic crew neck black t-shirt works is wonderous for any wardrobe. A well tailored or altered smoking jacket dresses up or down well. Makes for an excellent way of turning jeans and said black t-shirt into a "fetish" outfit. Also helps when wanting to dress up in vanilla life too. One's favorite pair of blue jeans can make for a cowboy, an undercover cop, a news reporter, a punk rocker, musician, athlete (with jersey on top) or other costume or roleplay idea. A basic pair of black slacks again be work in a variety of ways and for me, the rest is all about the right accessories. There are pirate costume kits for under $10 in most toy stores. Leg warmers, jewelry, hairstyles, dramatic makeup and anything is possible. The most important part of any fun wardrobe is to have a great tailor. If the clothes fit you well, anything can be sexy. And being able to take an old suit jacket from the thrift store, ripping off the sleeves, highlighting the pockets with coordinating fabric, adding a front zipper or snazzy buttons, makes for an awesome versatile vest that can be worn alone, over a t-shirt, over a hoodie, or a dress shirt for a variety of different looks. Adding that it can be worn open or half zipped or full zipped is also always a benefit.

nipple tape (electrical tape), fishnet body stocking and black panties... oh and a collar, or a whip which ever you prefer.
