kitttty -> I am a swithy one, yes I am. (11/7/2007 8:21:04 PM)

Jus to share-

Today the Master forgot his wallet and I got to buy him lunch. I hadn't realized it, but I recall that we went dutch on our very first date a couple of years ago and I since then have not paid for a mean when with him. It really through him off. I suppose on some level that one owns what one pays for. Normally he will express displeasure me if I don't finish what I order (which is amost always the case). Today he did not fnish what he ordered and then actually asked me if I minded since I was hosting him and he didn't want to seem rude about my gesture. Man, it through him off on so many levels.

But I simply loved it. Firstly because I thought it was endearing and also because I just loved having the tables turned just a little.

Well I could point out that good manners and comfort does not a dom or sub issue make.  Secondly, American meals are generaly preposterous in size and it's perfectly ok in my book to eat half and take the rest home.  It's how I plan most of my weekend meals :)

But glad you enjoyed the little twist and know that there are so many more to come.

They really are, when I'm in that neck of the world woods it never ceases to amaze me how much they serve up... and in some cases, give you dirty looks/ outright interrogations when you fail to finish the behemoth meal. Actually it's kind of endearing in a way..

Awwww how sweet! I am sure that table turning put a smile on yours and your Mater's lips ... and you both can think back fondly on that moment .I am in a relationship where My beloved kitten wants to be *even* meaning he wishes to pay for things as well and actually finds it hard when I buy more than *even*in his eyes. This is all new to me and it does turn the tables a bit ... however I am not going to let it get to me as this man is such a treasure and it means a lot to him so I will smile and say thank you for dinner.
On another note... I have to agree with the portions most places dish out .. heavens there is enough to feed a family at times not just one person!

You need to come to Michigan and eat at Tony's. Go on a diet a week before you come.

I would talk to him about the finish the food thing. I imagine it's a leftover (pun intended) from his family upbringing.

But being forced to eat more than you're comfortable with, and then if he also wants you to be thin and trim, is an impossibility. The two are diametrically opposed. But bringing the leftovers home should make him happier since that way you aren't wasting it.

It is nice occasionally to turn the tables just a little. And even nicer is if you get "punished" for it in a humerous, playful manner.

See men do have manners! What a touching thing for him to be so openly human and not have the Im male and dom atttitude going on.

Wrong grumpie. He is playing mind games with her.

i thought paying for things was a "who has money" issue not a Dom vs. sub issue or even male vs female issue anymore....?

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: I am a swithy one, yes I am. (11/8/2007 3:48:59 PM)

It's actually more a "who invited who" issue these days- but people insist on holding on to the old sexist standards.

In my case, Mr. Wonderful decides who pays.

kitttty -> RE: I am a swithy one, yes I am. (11/8/2007 4:25:21 PM)

The Master decides when to eat out, where we will eat out and he has decided to pay for both of us in basically all cases. he only takes me out to reward obedience anyways. we don't seem to go out just because we are hungry.

I am allowed to take food back home as leftovers and eat it the next day for lunch (he specifies when to eat it). He does not like it if I take more food than I can handle at a buffet. I try not to order appetizers when out with Master as i would not even finish half my meal in that case.

I am never in a position where I can invite Master to do anything. I could however bake him something in advance and present it to him as a gift. I should do this.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: I am a swithy one, yes I am. (11/8/2007 4:31:24 PM)

Almost all of the men that I've had close contact with feel that if they bought it, they own it, even if it was a gift. Both of my exes wanted things that they'd bought me back when we divorced. In fact, my second asked for my wedding rings back. (I said no...and since then I haven't been able to find them. He had a key, but I can't prove anything and so I don't even try to blame him.)

YourhandMyAss -> RE: I am a swithy one, yes I am. (11/8/2007 7:32:34 PM)

It's not sexist if he has money and I do not. Or more money than I do.

Really?

I also was thinking it was a who invited who issue and that most men try and pay for more than their share overall. That has been my experience at least.

The who pays issue can definitely be a D/s thing. There is the financial slavery thing where the sub pays for the Dom. There is the ownership thing where the Dom pays for the sub. There is the ownership thing where the Dom has control of the sub's money and there is no difference in who pays. Then there are those that don't associate money with D/s in any way. The Master decided that he pays for me. He does not seem to like me paying for him. In fact, he said he would pay me back for the meal, which I find strange since he's taken me out dozens of times. I guess he does not like splitting the bill either since he gives his card before I ever see the bill. I don't know his financial situation, but it would seem like whatever he spends on me is a trivial sum for him.
