I get messages from out of state Mistresses all the time, but I don't think i've ever gotten one message from my home state. I find this odd. Does this happen to anyone else?

As Forrest Gump would say, "It Happens." Consider yourself fortunate that you don't get 101 emails from Pakistan, India and other exotic locations begging to be your cam slave and to "humle lik yur feets." You're truly missing out.

Happens all the time. When I lived on the east coast, I got emails from the west. Now that I live out west, I get emails from the east. I've finally just made my profile about me and my philosophy and set it to just friends. Master Fire

I second that motion. Also, given how many complaints I see about empty inboxes, I would be pretty happy about the response rate overall, out of state or no. :)

Yeah, i'm thankful I even get messages. It's just frustrating because I am at a point in my life where I cannot relocate. Especially clear across the country. Oh well. I'm keepin' my head up. I'll meet someone eventually. Thanks for the responses!

Probably Kidd you just have not been looking. I did a little run down on Female Dominants in your area and there are a shit load of them. Hell one might even be living next door to you. First try looking at the 'who's looking at me' tab. Make this a habit for a while, and see what turns up. Also stress in your profile that your not looking to relocate and are looking for someone closer to home 'like next door'

Does this happen to anyone else? Since joining CM, I don't think I've received any messages from Dommes who live in the DFW area that I can recall with perhaps one exception. The rest have all been from out of state or quite some distance away (Texas is a pretty large state). So yes, I'd say it definitely happens. I'd also suggest that you can take the initiative and contact those around you who might interest you. Most Dommes are approached so frequently here (deluged with mail might be a better phrase), they usually don't need to make initial contacts unless they're not seeing what they're looking for in their inbox. Arizona has a HUGE community. APEX in Phoenix is a wonderful organization. You are living in a very good area to meet people. Get off your computer, get out there, and meet people. Consider yourself very lucky to live in an area where there are so many people to get to know.

As MystressDream wrote, APEX is a wonderful place to meet people. Also, Tucson has its own organization called Desert Dominion. Both groups have munches, instruction, and dungeons. Although one can find partners via the internet, going to places where people share your interests is an even better place to look.

Ive gotten emails from as far away as finland. Also gotten emails from people way outside my age range (when your old enough to be my grandmother, the answer is NO). Its quite funny, really.

You should put on your profile that you are seeking locals not long distance. Also go check out your local kink community, http://www.soj.org, has links to organizations all over North America.

Does this happen to anyone else? I’ve been wondering this myself. I think it has to do with the fact it is more safe talking to someone far away because them having to meet you is not a possibility. Therefore they feel more open to discuss things knowing you aren’t going to be pressuring them into meeting you. I welcome such conversations but ultimately I wonder where they are leading to and if I will still be talking to such people in five years from now. It is also a bit heartbreaking exposing yourself to falling in love with the personality of those which you may never meet but that is the world of the internet.

Just because someone isn't regionally close to you, or available for the level of relationship or play that you want, doesn't mean that you can't still have fun. I've made friends from all over the country, either from here or having met at events that I have a blast bantering with, or catching a drink with when we're in the same town. The way I see it, should I find myself in city X, Y, or Z I've got people to hang with. :)

I for one have recognized that for the right person, I might have to uproot some of my life and change environments. It's sure a good reason to keep a fresh resume and a high balance in your frequent flier miles account!
