Honesty and saying what you mean on this forum apparently is an underrated attribute.

And, so is being witty, although wit is subjective as someone pointed out, which is cool.

As for me, I will continue to remain that way and like IrishMist, sorry if you cannot deal with it. Grown ups usually can agree to disagree without freaking out or running to the Mods.

At least I thought so.

For the record, I have never nor will I ever run to the Mods.

~fast reply~

i can be quite serious in response to serious questions, yet i admit that when either the OP obviously has no desire to hear any opinion that varies from theirs, or is of the holier than thou, "see my halo glisten" sort,  i admit that it brings out my caustic wit.  i try to not insult or mock anyone in a public venue, rather i attempt bring a bit of levity into a situation that honestly seems to be nothing more than "pat my back and tell me what i want to hear".  If i wanted to be around a group of mindless automatons that do nothing but echo each other's sentiments, and say things in the same dry emotionless manner, i would NOT be on this site.  i enjoy seeing other points, even if i do not agree with them, even the ones that irritate the shit out of me.  They have the right to feel that way, as i have a right to feel as i do.

eh, going back to my corner to eat clam chowder.

I would much rather listen to a painful truth than a smarmy validation -- especially if it is about me.

I don't think we have to ignore threads because someone is stupid and might get their feelings hurt by hearing the truth.  Maybe it would be better if they come back when they are grownups and can handle being in the public.

LOL....... no  but here are two highlights
Participants are not expected to coddle one another, but they are expected to keep things within the realm of maturity.

There are a small handful of people who are about to go on an unplanned vacation.  If you think the post in the Adminstrative Announcements forum was a joke, you're about to feel the punch line.

XI

Tell you what. I'll take myself on a vacation; all by my lonesome. No matter what, I knew it was not a joke, and it was not the intention to make it appear a joke.
But then I guess, my sense of humor is too off the wall for others to understand. Enjoy yourselves; I am outta here.

It is fruitless to argue against the establishment.  Go burn your bras (and jock straps) elsewhere.

I also can't stand the usual bullying-is-all-in-fun crowd. I just can't take it, and never mind the philosophy behind them doing it. It's pretty much taken me off asking for advice or opinions here.
<wait for someone to jump in with a "you need a thicker skin" response, I suppose.>

Your post says a lot.
I have noticed that teasing/bullying is only fun WHEN you are not the target.

Have you noticed that most of us that have been here a while, have enough
sense NOT to ask for serious advice here?
I am NOT that much of a maso, hell I rather write Dr.Phil.

The group I playfully refer to as the CollarMe Women's Auxilliary seem to feel most every thread is a welcome place for their insessant off topic chat with one another.

Otherwise known as the Bigmouth Submissive Collective - though you may avoid that particular group by joining more 'arrid' discussion threads. They tend to not frequent those as assiduously :-) .

Sexykitten? can I buy you a drink?

Come here, sit by me, let's talk.
