I think most are aware of the different arcaic laws  here in the UK IE....... one old act of law being the well know disorderly house act 1751 still on the satute books and can be used against you even unto this day, should the judisory see fit to limit your rights.

Another more disturbing bill to be passed by the UK parlimemt coming this May 2008 to repress the rights of people is

The viewing or holding of what they uK jurdisory and parliment considered imagies  of extreme pornography. I am not going to get into what maybe considered extreme pornography, personally l have a picture of my wifes butt on my cell phone, in moments of boredom or lust l view it...hey it helps the day go quicker at work. But dear reader a police officer may take a different view and consider if an offense.

I have become aware of an organisation that is fighting back and l urge all in the UK involved in our consensual life style, if you do not want your personal choice of life style or freedom of expression taken away to support www.spannertrust.org

Please take a moment to log onto their site, read up and stand up for your rights. shout....some of us enjoy out alternative life style, get over it.

I think its important for you to include the changes first, which i remember reading on IC and actually hardly affect us and is more to do with far less savoury images, i cant remember the link now though that was last year some time

I posted a few threads on this a while back. From memory, the Bill precludes only certain images and in certain situations - its not a blanket ban, although as the OP says it could be open to misinterpretation.

Whats banned is (and my memory may have failed me) any image where death or serious injury is depicted or may result from the activity depicted, and it only applies to images concerned with the neck, the anus or the breasts.

As for "serious injury" I seem to recall on one of the threads bringing up the description of serious injury from the website of the Crown Prosecution Service, which only uses the term serious injury in relation to assaults which constitute Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH ie broken bones, penetration wounds etc) - which makes it rather difficult under this new law to prosecute for images depicting what most of us would consider to be Safe and Sane; "serious injury" must be "serious injury" and it would be a hopeful prosecutor indeed who would forward a case for it where the injury or potential injury does not fit the description required for a charge of GBH.

Sorry - its anus, breasts or genitals!

In addition any image or series of images which depicts an act likely to threaten life or shows interference with a corpse or an animal.

And it also must be pornographic - so an image of someone getting shot in a war film or artwork isnt included.

Oh come on now, dont let a little things like facts stand in the way of a good panic atack.

Ack! Ack! Run for the hills! We are doomed. Its the end of all kink as we know it. Why we are just hours (if not minutes) away from all perverts being rounded up and shiped off to fenced in reeducation camps.

This thing has been draging on for years and pops up every few months again with another 'we are on the brink' fearmongering. Kind oif reminds me of the virial claiming that congress is going to pass a tax on email unless we do something and do something RIGHT NOW!

Its already againt the law in england to MAKE violent porn. I dont think a law baning the position/viewing violent porn is going to change a heck of a lot. This is just a public relations stunt by parlement taking somethign already againt the law and making it more againt the law because they have to look like they are doing ~something~. Otherwise Liz Longhurst is never goign to shut up.

I thought I had put the case not to panic, but I may be wrong since I can often agree with what Sinergy writes on here.....
