Greetings

Yesterday was womens day, and thousands and thousands of feminists marked the day, having rallies and speeches and protests working for equal rights between women and men, witch i think is good, and many working on petty little things, or even that men should be treated worse than women, witch is not so good. The point is, that for many, the day became a bitching session.

But one woman was on TV that i saw yesterday and spoke about housewives, how being a housewife have almost become an insult. That for a woman to embrace traditional female values and staying home tending house and children is somehow bad. And that more than ever on women's day housewives are discriminated against. But is not women's day supposed to be about women. i mean it is not named feminist day or anti male day, it is women's day.

Now i am all for choice, women should have the option to be career women, and work in the police and wherever they want to work and should have equal pay for equal work as the men, but should not also the traditional woman get the spotlight during a day that is supposed to celebrate woman. Is it not time that sociality say that it is ok for a woman to have a career and be equal to men in society, bring in the dough for the family, but it is also ok for a woman to be a wife and a mother i mean should not all choices for women be valid, even the ones that are more traditional.

i think women's day need to be less of a bitch session, and more of a celebration of women. Also when one is going to bitch, why not bitch about things that really matter like the fact that there are allot more research being done on treatment for what ails men, than what ails women and things like that, not just general bitching on ow horrible men are and how gruesome it is that we have porn and skinny models in the world.

So did any of you mark women's day yesterday? Celebrating what women is in the Gorean lifestyle. Companions and even slaves. i think such roles for women need to be celebrated to, not just the roles of lawyer and so on.

seriously, Women's day must not be celebrated here or I live in such a small town that there is no celebration. I wish I was surprised to hear that it turned into a bitch session. I am old enough (sigh) to remember the women's movement in the United States, and while good strides were made for equal work/ equal pay (which in my mind was the main issue feminism should have addressed) most of the stuff that came out of it was utter crap. It did turn being a nurturing mother and housewife into a disgrace. I am glad we are past most of that stuff, it was not the finest hour of women in America.

I think any concept that shows a woman enjoying Men in a dominant role in a woman's life would have feminist up in arms as its wrong etc. Luckily, many women are now getting the concept that being a housewife and mother is not the -- negative -- the feminist feel it should be and many women are choosing to try and be a housewife, mother, caregiver, or heck just enjoy being in a role the Man wishes her to be in. I also don't think it was celebrated here either.

But to me even a housewife and mother need to take a break from her life and just remember that she is a woman. By the By in a study last year i think it is a woman who is a housewife/mother who stayed home does the equivalent of many jobs that total all together over $150,000 a year.

We celebrated women’s day in the UK, though not much was mentioned about it, and I didn’t hear of any feminist rallies.

Instead the gatherings I knew of were small groups in churches filled with women praying together for each other and the ones they love, celebrating being a woman, a mother, a wife, a daughter. Just women together glad they are women.

I agree with you nephandi. Being a housewife and mother oftentimes takes a lot more work and a lot longer hours than just a 9-5 job. In my opinion it is likely the most important job a woman can have and should also be acknowledged and celebrated on Womans Day as much as any other career today.
Any woman today should celebrate who she is and what she is and have pride in all that and what she has accomplished in her life. Not waste time bitching about how life is not fair and such. If it isn't fair do something to change it. We all have the power to do so.

Am such an inquiring mind that I did a quick research on Women's day. It does exist and is called International Women's Day or IWD and it is celebrated on March 8th. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women. In some celebrations, the day lost its political flavour, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love to the women around them in a way somewhat similar to Mother's Day and St Valentine's Day mixed together.

There is also an International Men's Day celebrated on the first Saturday of November.

I didn't notice any reference to it being celebrated in the United States, though. Perhaps, I missed it.

The day is international but it vary allot how much it is celebrated. But let me tell you what Norwegian feminists are up to these days. In our government we have something that translated becomes the department of equal rights. They got a complaint from a woman that pink cell phones was more expensive than black one and that was discriminating against women. The real silly thing is that the department took it seriously. Another time a group of feminists went amok to remove the men's toilets, you know the ones where they can stand, for while the toilets one could sit on cost money to use, the men's variants was free as they was cheaper to keep clean and you paid in this public loo for the cost of keeping the place clean. So to make sure men could not pee cheaper then women they wanted the men's toilets removed and it tuned into a huge case. Another one was when the feminists demanded most of Norway's traffic lights changed. The problem is that the red and green figure that tell you to walk or not was wearing a men's hat suggesting it was a man. And they felt it was a huge offense to women that the traffic light symbol was not gender neutral.

Now i am not saying that some feminists do not do a wonderful job securing women's rights, but some are just, what are the word, rabid.

Hmmm.... I celebrated women's day (though I didn't know it was women's day) by giving my slave an extra 100 bucks in her allowance to replace birthday money that her deadbeat ex stole from the mailbox so that her unmentionable could still have a nice birthday. Happy birthday/women's day.

Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone. They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.
