It feels good to feel full with normal sized portions for a change, and to not feel the urge to snack in the evenings, because I don’t “feel” hungry.

There are several ways to keep it cold enough darlin, depends on the mode of travel and how long the trip is. You can always put it in a small ziplock then put that in a bigger one full of ice.... Lunch boxes that have the freezer packs also work Read the bottle to see the life of the insulin if it gets to room temp,like lantax had a 28 days use by if not kept in the fridge after breaking the seal.
The fridge died in the apt here once, and we had to hustle to find a cheap cooler in Nov in Nyc I finally found a drug store than had one in the basement in storage that didnt get sold during the summer months.
Most of my knowledge comes from taking care of Pye as his pancreas didnt function right and always had to keep the insulin in the coolest place in the fridge which meant 2 a day insulin injections. Well that and 2 a day pills and bouts of injectable antibiotics, even learned how to do subq hydration using a IV bag and set up.
Plus my dad had to do injectables and when I would go for a long visits he preferred me to give them to him, because he never felt mine. :)
Im sure there are other diabetics that can also give you ideas to keep it cold
