poen, I have no idea where my patience & ability to work with this little guy came from, but he has rewarded me for it many, many times over. Being feral, he had no clue how to act like a pet. It took about a month of his being at the other end of the leash, inside & outside, every moment I was awake before he would let me touch him without his cringing & trying to go hide. Once he started learning what it was that I expected him to do, he would grasp a new command about every 20 minutes. This is when "the Amazing Wonder Dog" was added to his name. It was so much fun watching him while giving him new commands. He looked like he was thinking, "I don't know what it is that you want me to do, but I really, really want to do it for you!!" When he came to me, he already had heartworm & the vet told me in Spring, 2007 that he wouldn't make it past Fall of that year. When I took him in for his yearly this Spring, the vet said he didn't understand it, but his lungs were clear & he only had a slight murmur in his heart. He truly is amaxing & wonderful.
