Oh man I love me some Kona coffee too. I felt like I had found the elixer of the gods when I was in Hawaii! ... I have friends who live there and shipped it to me last year.... hmmmm... now where is their address?

i love it that good friends of mine had a great turnout (despite the snowy weather) last night for their docu-film premiere ...i love that my Christmas gift from my pet looks wonderful on my finger ...i love it that i don't have go outside the next few days due to bitter cold weather.

The first time I had it I was hooked. This place has a website http://www.orensdailyroast.com/

the owner goes there and hand picks the plantations. They say its the best harvest in years.

The same goes for the Jamica Blue Mountion.

Both a expensive as hell being a rarety.....but damn worth it.

I guess i am lucky. Some weeks ago Warden and I were out looking for a presspot so I can drink coffee at his house. He doesnt drink it. He picked up a press pot and a bag of coffee for me from the gourmet kitchen store. I just had my last cup and only have a few sips left. :-(

I am lucky that my area has some great local roasters. Casteel coffe being one of them and my favorite(which my ex gets) Intelligensia coffee. Its the best. I love locally roasted coffee!

This place locally roasts theirs too.

The owner also goes to the plantations to see which one has produced the best beans.

On a side not they also support schools in plantation areas so the youngsters can get an education and continue the business of making remarkable coffee

I loves me some Jamacan Blue Mountain coffe. I havent had that in a long time. Thats some coffee even more expensive than kona. Kona is very nice though. Although I love Ethiopian Sudamo.

There is an Ethiopian restaurant in Orlando on International Drive that serves some of the best coffee I have ever tasted. They do the full ceremony there, including the roasting out where you can watch it..the food is great..spicy and served on a vinegary and spongy flat bread that you roll around the food and eat with your hands. BP and I love that place.

There used to be a place in the Marina in San Francisco that had a small roaster in the main room so that the smells of the fresh roasting coffee would go out into the street. The sheer volume of customers in that place said that it wasn't roasting enough beans to serve to everyone, but the smell would bring lots & lots of customers in who were suddenly craving good coffee as they walked by!

Lushy, I have some of that too, could only afford a 1/4 pound since it was 50 bucks a pound, I still like the Kona over it flavor wise.

We love Ethiopian food, too. This place in Adams Morgan called Meskerem, where we had lunch with dcnovice, that is absolutely fabulous.

I love it when Tulip calls me, and DB answers, and they had a sweet chat before we talked.
