Yeppers,  I have built a lot of stuff over the years for those who wanted something done and had the money to pay for it. These mass produced items are nice  but I prefer to build for those who want something special and are willing to wait for it to be done right. There was one couple in Miami back in the early 90's that wanted to walk into the area above their garage and be transferred into a different place and time,  it took me six months to do it but it knocked their socks off. I found out a few years back they sold the house and the new owners latterly destroyed it.

Well, I have a workshop. Can do carpenter, polyester, fiberglass boatbuilding, car repair, garden and locksmith stuff. Unfortunately I cannot do some welding since my machine was stolen.

Some of the stuff I made and am adapting is here: http://www.paintoys.blogspot.com

I wish I could make some steel dildos, as the one anal plug I have here PIC.
But therefore I would need som machining equipment. But i am considering doing some in polyurethane and fiberglass covered in polyester gelcoat.

Best regards

Wow, I just checked out your site... I can't tell if I'm scared, impressed, turned on or all of the above... but I'm curious what the chain is for... is that off of a chainsaw?!

SimplyMichael -> RE: What would you build? (4/6/2008 8:45:32 PM)

I am going to do a St. Andrews cross with a Federalist take on it.  Subtle hand cut tapers with holly stringing and numerious small veneer inlays.  I have some nice 2" quartersawn Sepele I could use that would be perfect.  Another part of me wants to create it out of plywood and veneer it so the insides would be a tortion box which would allow the chains to be hidden inside and you just pulled out the right amount for your victim and clicked the length in place.

I want to do a really nice spanking bench but I haven't yet come up with a design.  I don't don't want it to look like a saw horse or a sandwich sign

Anyone looking to do this stuff should have these catalogs
www.woodcraft.com  They have brick and mortor stores all over and have classes
www.leevalley.com Makers of great tools

Leatherist -> RE: What would you build? (4/6/2008 9:29:34 PM)

I'm building a small machine shed over here this coming month-and moving my milling machine in there. A mini lathe will come soon after-and then I can start making some really interesting bondage furniture.

SimplyMichael -> RE: What would you build? (4/7/2008 6:46:27 AM)

Leatherist,

I love working metal and have a small metal lathe but the farther I have moved from power tools the better my woodworking has become.  I recently finished up a libella, a Roman survey instrument, that I cut all the rabits and dadoes by hand with a rebate plane, hand inlayed the ivory degree markers, and turned the plumb bob freehand on my woodlathe.  I rand out of time and so did the joinery with a biscuit jointer but my next one is going to be all hand work, no machines at all.

I have a growing interest in doing veneer work and have wanted to do a veneered cross for some time as well as a desire to create shapes and profiles that move past the "nail a 2x6" together tradition.  I am going to do a bent lamination cross so that while it is flat in the middle of the X, the legs twist inward and so at the feet are 90 degrees to the flat and parallel the natural orientation of the feet.  I haven't decided about the arms as I want to curve them too but I haven't quite worked that out yet.

Leatherist -> RE: What would you build? (4/7/2008 7:38:00 AM)

I like the idea of gear that hides as regular furniture. And yes,too much of commercial stuff out there is really cheesy. I think it's that people simply don't want to pay for craftsmanship. Same reason I quit making armor.

TheIslandofO -> RE: What would you build? (4/8/2008 7:57:33 AM)

Ahh yes, the woodworkers craving for perfection. My father is a old master at working with wood by hand. He has both modern tools and alot of old tools he made when he was a kid, as well as tools my grandfather made when he was a kid.I constantly catch him using the old tools like they were part of his own body. It is just the old ways, in some ways are better for perfecting ones craft. he is far better at creating works of art then I use wood in a more utilitarian way. I have done peices that look great but I see the imperfections. I stopped along time ago trying to be him. I tend to make peices that are functional, rather then as art.I do ot have the luxery of time  to be able and hand sand a piece for six months between coats. I will have my dream shop one day on my farm.

kahlana -> RE: What would you build? (4/11/2008 7:21:47 AM)

i am fairly blessed to have a Master who's primary occupation is construction. we have plans for a bondage horse at the moment but need to finish my apartment off before we can build it. although i stay at his apartment with him we want to turn my bedroom in my apartment into a dungeon. Master owns the duplex we live in so soundproofing the room will be no problem and His ex will have no legal reason for going into my apartment so our toys can be left out safely. i've always wanted velvet padded walls :D
oh now theres a thought.. how about removeable panels that will soundproof a room... i saw the Christopher Lowell show do a series on decorating an apartment and they used painted panels that went on tracks that could be removed when the occupant moved elsewhere. Maybe something like that but with extra soundproofing padding and such.

To borrow a page from the GPS Captivity thread, I would like to fashion a collar with either a GPS tracking or logging device in it.  This notion will have to wait until the devices are smaller as the collar I envision needs to be suitable for wear in the vanilla world.

Until then, I think one could design & build an effective chastity belt with such a device built in it.  Better a tracking a device than a logger as it could prove unnerving to your sub to call and say something like, "Why are you stopping at 10th & Post when you are supposed to be on your way home?"

Mistressspet -> RE: What would you build? (4/11/2008 1:49:30 PM)

We have removed the hide-a-bed from the couch...as Mistress's pet i've spent a few evenings tied, gagged and out of sight while she entertains (i'm not sure they know i'm there). Better than a pet cage.
The new project is a midevil horizontal streaching rack. Oh a plexiglass coffee table/cage would be fun would be great with remote control toys i could finally watch.
Items hided in plain view 6x6 posts and lental for an outdoor swing remove swing add slave. A slim coffee table with thin legs to put through cuff loops. Because we do SCA and Ren Fairs a set of stocks in the yard is concidered normal. A post with carpet around it and pull rope hole in it makes a good place to do a riding crop induced dance with carpet burn. The bed is raised  with a set of pullys under it on all four points for a slave to sleep. Mistress sleeps well knowing her pet is going no where until morning.

Giving thought to a wrought iron headboard & footboard. Not cast, wrought. By a domestic blacksmith. Don't see any need to reinvent the wheel, every mattress/box spring today comes with a basic metal + casters frame to support it. But a good sturdy, decorative, functional matched pair of head and footboards that secure to the frame and can be secured to the walls or floor...and maybe even sideboards from the rail down, for more restraint tie points...

Tie points everywhere, grab points everywhere, big swooshy Pennsylvania Deutsch heart motifs, or twisted basket-hilt insets, or kinky Celtic triskelions, or very medievalish dungeony gridwork...

Places to grab on the headboard, places to push on the footboard, and a minimum king-size playing field...

entering on the realm of the highly unfeasible...
a giant clear plastic bubble (like the ones they have for hamsters to run around in, only big enough for a human)

Ooh, ooh... and you could have several bubbles with people in them, and they could run around and play "bumper bubbles!" ... you could probably even pass it off as some sort of modern art piece.

toysmaster -> RE: What would you build? (4/12/2008 2:53:55 PM)

I built a "Mare of Steel", that can be used by 2 slave girls.  I started with a 1" X 2" steel spreader bar with a eyelet in the middle.  I took a piece of steel 3/4" conduit and bent it to about a 70 degree angle and welded it on top of the 1 X 2 with the  upright, saddle horn toward the middle eyelet.  I did the same on the oppisite side.  Next I attached 2 chains on each end of the spreader bar, for a total of 4 chains.  Their use will be explained in a moment.
Use--  Using a center chain in the eyelet and hooked to a chain hoist, the Mare of Steel is supended at a comfortable height.  You have one slave girl straddle one end of the Mare of steel, taking the 2 chains that are between the legs and pull one around each thigh and attach to a D ring by the saddle horn.  Making sure it's tight enough to pull the saddle horn well into the slave girls lips.  Now mount the second slave girl on the other side, securing her as well.  Using two 24" small spreader bars attached above the girls heads, the wrist cuffs are attached.  Now with the hoist the Mare of Steel can be raised pulling the steel tight into the pu**ies.   Stepping back to enjoy the scene.  Two Slave Girls, naked facing each other with their hands secured above their heads riding the Mare of Steel.
The beauty of this, is in the fact that whatever slave girl 1 feels is shared with slave girl 2.  Each is aware of her own flogging as well as what is happening to the other.  Once the skin has been reddened and well tenderized it's time for the pin wheels.  As slave girl 1 tries to move away from the wonderful insturment she is driving the saddle horn deeper into slave girl 2.  Ofcourse as Masters begin to work together using the pin wheels at the same time the two slaves squirm wonderfully.
After the scene a young lady came up and told toy that was the most beautiful thing she has ever seen.  toy said "thank you", and she said, "No, THANK YOU"!
The two slave girls loved the "Mare of Steel", and can't wait to ride it again.  They said it was so comfortible and it allowed them to feel not only what their master was giving them, they also could experience what the others master was doing to her sister slave.  Everyone at the club enjoyed watching, since no other scenes were going on so all could watch.
If anyone ever does a scene with another couple this is a good tool.

Don't know if it's beend said yet, but I'd want reproduction medieval torture devices, like some of the ones here (modified to be non-lethal of course) http://www.medievality.com/torture.html

Or pretty much anthing from http://www.devicebondage.com

Not at all, I have always been fascinated by these type of things. I always wanted to build a captivity box with high tech electronics and hydraulics that can be controlled by software and used for intense conditioning / training. I would be happy to share ideas with you

Leatherist -> RE: What would you build? (7/31/2008 1:28:59 PM)

let's see, I would use my innate skills as an artist, machinist, fabricator and woodworker to create a reasonably priced, high quality line of gear that would sell like hotcakes.

Then buy property, and scale up to do it even better, and build a nice house with a big playspace to work on fun, research and development.  No one else would have what I sold. Then go on from there to buy 100 acres to set up aquaponic greenhouses on-automated. And use the year round profits from that to bank for retirement-and pay off all of the taxes for years in advance.

Sound like fun?

ExtremeBondage -> RE: What would you build? (7/31/2008 1:51:26 PM)

since others have posted personal accomplishments, here goes! http://www.AdashiPagoda.com  I created many of the prototype devices for the "Device Bondage, Water Bondage, Hogtied" sites as well as items for Mr. S .    The significant satisfaction of building another persons dream from a sketch on a napkin or the modification of vanilla devices makes life a lot of fun!  Bondage Beds to ornate Gorean collars welded in place. As most of my trades/friends would  say, he is the ultimate, MillWrong, LOL!

So far all of what I have seen on this thread is actually easily dooable if you have the money.I have the shop and by next month will have a new home built casting and forge capability hopefully, if I can get the rest of the parts I need

The money is also the issue here. . along with not have space . . along with having a teen in the house.  Frustrating when we have a fully functioning woodshop and lots of ideas . . I wouldn't know where to start.  But we had a St. Andrews Cross http://www.geocities.com/sadistic_furniture/furniture.html , that would easily store under a bed, (though we have a platform bed!) and never had the space at home for it.  That said - it's been fun using things in the shop itself!

The first bed mentioned is similar to one He's designed for us. . . (money and time pending).

Someone else mentioned the hide-a-bed.  We've left it in because that frame has come in handy!!  And to think it just looks like a couch to everyone else.  :)
