greetings Masters
greetings Mistresses
hi girls

i want to start by thanking everyone for their well wishes on the boards and in cm.  its been so long since i have felt such concern... well... it was touching.. thank you all!

i had my surgery, as most know.  today i went for my checkup.  according to Master and my surgeon, it took 5 hours for me to wake up from anesthesia.  never had that problem before, then again, i only got three hours of sleep the night before.  could have been partly the cause.

the surgeon explained the damage to my knee, including pictures.. lol.  one tear to the meniscus needed no repair, the other was major.  along with this, there was a tear in my ACL, requiring a few stitches.  he explained that the ACL was stretched and loose, but not to the point that it needed to be replaced.  we discussed pain management, because the past few days have been terrible.   naproxen was given as ibuprofen seems to have been the cause of some pre-op hives (yeah, i was a mess).  apparently i got one of the best surgeons in the area according to Master.  he said while he waited for me to recover, people commented on how lucky i was to get this surgeon on workman's comp.    so, now its on to rehab for a month before the surgeon will even begin to think about returning to work.

wow!  how i miss working!!!  Master insists i take it easy around the house.  and its driving me nuts!  im used to working two to three jobs.  to drop down to nothing is driving me crazy.. lol.

anyways, thought i would update everyone and give this thread a soft breath to add some life.

well wishes

tazzy

Hi taz,

Glad that your surgery is behind you now.
be careful though naproxin is just souped up ibuprofen, or rather alieve it is an ensaid or however ya spell it. so, dunno if you will still have an allergic reaction.

Greetings each of you

Greetings Master Orion

This one is about to begin a 7 hour a day, 5 days a week for 6 weeks program on Tuesday, May 26th. She'll be away from home from 7:45 a.m to 5 p.m each weekday until completion. It's an intensive multi disciplinary program consisting of biofeedback, physical therapy, psychological healing and more. She mentioned it awhile back in this thread. She had to be considered a candidate, meet with each doctor seperately, meet with the team of doctors together and wait for an authorization to continue after making it through.

She was made Group Leader in a RSD/CRPS support group about 5 weeks ago and has been spending her time leading.

This program is to give people with extreme disabilities and incurable illnesses the opportunity at a better life by learning how to get through flare-ups without being over medicated. She has agreed to give up some of the meds and do as instructed through out the course of the 6wks. She will learn to wear shoes again, possibly drive, get back into school and get her Corporate Publishing diploma, she only has 3 courses left to achieve it, eventually work outside the home depending on progress. They will assist her in trying to get hand gears for the van so that she can drive using her upper extremity instead of with the lower. On the same day that she begins, she will be 8 weeks Post Op surgery from having the revision to her lead/wire and the additional one added to her spine. She has healed well, no infection.

The doctors told her this will be one of the hardest things she's ever done for herself in the last 8+ years. She knows this and is ready.

Not many of the programs exist, for anyone who is interested here is a pdf file of one identical in another state

http://www.neurologynow.com/pt/re/neuronow/pdfhandler.01222928-200905020-00017.pdf;jsessionid=KQ8dhw4PQWdDRRRYyGnX9TYQDyY3q87dh7pLy2ggqn5S12rKdLpF!-631265884!181195628!8091!-1?index=1&database=ppvovft&results=1&count=10&searchid=1&nav=search

Am nervous but excited at the same time ~smiles

Thank you Master

Wishing you all most well,
~twinkle

Greetings twinkle:

I have not posted here in this thread until now. I was looking at the various postings and wondered in here to quietly read. A light bulb went off as I read the many wonderful supportive postings. Forgive my intrusion to anyone and you of course if my being here is not welcome.

So here it goes my late night or rather early morning assorted thoughts. I was thinking how this opportunity you have earned hopefully will only foster an environment where you can not only be someone who is an inspiration and much more yet also this seems as though you will gain more than you might imagine from giving what you have learned and earned. It is odd how that happens in life. Situations just have a way of turning to good sometimes when we least expect it as the fog clears.

I recall when I was recovering from a work related injury and a nurse told me that my situation would only become a blessing. Of course I grumbled. I thought " yeah sure as I half way chuckled. Yet you know she was right. It did turn to good. I learned much more than I could have ever while recovery was taking place and the Drs. and medical staff worked their " majic ".

I recall a Dr. saying as he looked me straight in the eyes " Failure is NOT an option!" He left the room. Off I went in my wheel chair thinking more about how I " could do " than not so much about " how I could not do" more and more each day.

Well anyway it sounds like you are surely on a pathway to healing. Keep up the good work and much good health and hope to you while doing your most needed and valuable gift of giving back what others deeply need. Hope! I know I could not have healed without it.

I wish you well,
~ Zevar ~

Greetings Zevar,
You are indeed correct, about twink having an oportunity to be an inspiration. The only thing I would like to say on that is. she has already achieved that by starting this thread to begin with.
twink is a selfless woman and has been from the time I met her.
While I know there have been those out here that have griped about this thread and stated it is nothing but a pity party. All I can say to those people is (I feel bad for you) if that is what you see in this thread.
This thread was created, intended and kept going out of many things and reasons, not one of them being a ploy for pity though. Quite the contrary.
This threads intent is nothing short of inspirational, a hope to give others who suffer from whatever they suffer from a means to know they are not alone and there are others out there who suffer but still hold (compassion and understanding) for others who are in pain. We appreciate the oportunity to let others know, that we are not so wrapped up in our own miseries that we have no room to try and help or comfort others. For that chance, I feel this thread is a blessing. People do not have to post or share, they are also invited to just read in hopes that what they read will be uplifting to them and if anyy of us can offer just one person who feels like giving up a moment to reflect and understand, that they are not alone, then IMO, that is something to feel great about.
Compassion and understanding for our fellow men and women are free in this life, at least so far, so I can not imagine why anyone would want to stomp on that save maybe they are stuck in their own kind of misery and feel misery needs company.
I have spoken with twink at length many times because of comments she has been given for starting this thread and I am over joyed to know, she will never again let some lonely, hurtful person ever make her doubt the good she has created here again.
Thank you for your posted participation as well and sharing a little bit of your own thoughts.

I wish you well,
Maahsatti
