Greetings..~smiles~

I've read some differences posted by those here that incorporate Gor into their everyday lives..(differences meaning only in how each Free Person does things personally for their home)

There are some things that does suppose are acceptable to take from the books (ie slave positions), and some things that probably aren't (trying to tell someone that a penny is really a copper tarsk, and a quarter is really a silver tarsk).

Excluding the outside..When in your own home or in congregation of others that are Gorean..what sort of things are actually used? Like I know you all use on here Tal often for greetings..do you carry this over into your home? Or tell your slave/s to get into a position by using the exact name of it from the books? Do you refer to coffee as blackwine, or setup different wines of color earth has and give them the names of the books?

Just interesting to me to see what all is used and found practical in your everyday lives. :)

thankyou for listening

Well I do have my Gorean clothes and cape, have get some pictures of that. My kajira wears a chain tunic and has slave bells on her ankle. We do have a pit and sword fight with in Reenactment rules. Blackwyne as coffee...will have to remember that. Yes slaves must act as slaves positions and all. We also have mead, it made. I buy my own ale..Arrogant Bastard.

Greetings,

This is a nice question starshine, thank you.

I was kneeling at my Masters feet a year ago, a newly owned girl. My master turns to me and says "serve me blackwine, slave girl" I responded with "yes, master" and then went off the kitchen, wondering how it was i came to belong to a man who would want a glass of wine at 7 AM.

I returned less than a minute later shamefaced and had to tell him that i had no wine in the house which to serve him.

He got quite a chuckle out of it, and i learned that blackwine is coffee.

Today he still tells me to serve him blackwine.

Other things he incorporates are the use of the position names in the books. Nadu, Sula, Hair, She-Sleen, kneel to the whip. etc...

Greetings Masters, Mistresses and slaves...

Hey starshine, wonderful question

Masters most common word from the books, "lips". Whether I am cooking, kneeling at his feet or curled on the couch, that one word kinda says it all :)

In the past when we have visited others, there would sometimes be a point when all the slaves were piled in the middle of the living room and positions shouted out by the men, at which time the slave that assumed the correct position in the fastest time would receive a treat.

Mostly it looked like some macabre form of the game Twister, *winks*

Thanks for the brain teaser! Best of wishes to you and your owner.

**Edited to add, "heel" and "hair"...which he does use when in crowds. I'm sure as I finish my chores more will come to mind...that's what happens when age takes over the brain, things come in bits and pieces!

greeting starshine,

this is a wonderful topic, thanks for posting it. The one thing I hear most often that is directly from the books is 'Har-ta', and when I hear that I move , Fast!!

well wishes

oooooooo....I forgot about that one!

I think of all the words taken from the books, Har-ta is the one with the deepest feeling, for me. Something about the way it is said, perhaps it is the broken sound, with the emphasis on the "ta".. but hearing it does tend to get the heart racing...as well as the feet!

(Still trying to get brown shoes back to their original color after mistakenly applying black shoe polish..yikes!)
