Greetings Masters, Mistresses and slaves..

While pondering a topic of the gorean persuasion that might avoid the my way/your way path...this one struck me as something not talked about too much, so perhaps it might do the job :)

Provisions for property in the event of sudden and unexpected loss. Do others provide it for their slaves? Here, there is an insurance policy that will ease the financial end if Master leaves this world, (I won't go into the emotional aspect, another topic). So, I was wondering if other masters did the same, or something on the same lines...and..I would love to hear how others view this, if they agree or disagree.

Many have their slaves working, so while she will be struggling with the emotional loss, her chances of finding a place to habitate are better then the "stay at home" slave. Knowing several in the latter category, (myself included for right now), we discussed this among ourselves and while unpleasant to think of...it's kinda important.

Do slaves think of such things when begging the collar? How was the topic brought up if it was discussed? This is not to be confused with release, but I know a few women whose owners have set aside a sum of money just in case release happens,so the slave isn't homeless. I am speaking more along the lines of your owners demise, leaving you with not only emptiness, but needing to find a job, place to live, etc... Others thoughts?

On a side note...Master JustATop...my owner has a specific motion...like sign language, that tells me to "zip it"...*grins*... I think it could be universal! Your words brought a chuckle to himself this morning when he read that someone else felt there "ought to be a way".

Best of wishes to the free, extra hours in the day for the slaves..

Greetings..~smiles~

hehe.."Masters sometimes chatty one"...aren't we all :)

Good topic though Lisa, thankyou.

Financial issue's were discussed before begged Masters collar, and it was He that brought it up. For me, though had not worked outside the home at that time for 4 1/2yrs, did keep my nursing license updated, and somewhat abreast of the medical field changes just incase I did have to become the bread winner again. I really did not want to talk about such things with Master I guess because inside me is the "scrapper/fighter", and I knew if something did go wrong like that I'd survive okay.

I have to say though that Master's insisting on setting aside money, and keeping it building for me, as well as setting up His death benefits to come to me Really gave me a quiet piece of mind, and a much deeper trust in the sense that Master was for real, and did accept and take me for life. The benefits ofcourse can be changed at any given time and for whatever reason, this I know..but the savings is always there.

It is my hope to never have use of either, and we go in peace together in our creeking rocking chairs on the front porch, holding hands, and honorary smiles on our faces.

Hey lisa,

Master decided to basically "will me to another" in the event of his death. At this point if something happens I would go to krys's Master I do believe.

I'm not sure if any monetary arrangement will go with that as.. well.. it's not really my business but I know that I'll go with anything in the apartment that I wish to take with the exception of the items that Master wishes to go to his family.

Hey nena..

You are indeed fortunate to have someone that your Master feels close enough with to make such arrangements! Though I have not brought it up, Master probably doesn't know anyone he would wish me on, lol I admit it... the "perfect kajira" award does not hang on any wall in this house!

I say you are fortunate for two reasons, first that you won't be alone during a time when you need someone the most and secondly, that you be with someone you know and love.

Had to laugh starshine, that scenerio of the two creaky rocking chairs..*grins*.. Add a cat to the picture and it is mine! Old age is a reality that they never faced in the books, lol

Take care girls, thanks for the thoughts :)

greetings

I like nina would become the property of another Master. He is one of the Owner's blood brothers.

The Owner also has a 'zip it' specific motion that I obey instantly. Now of course my curiosity is making me wonder if it is the same motion that the One who owns lisa makes ....**lol**

Once a slave is in a house collar, we start to look at such eventualities. This naturally continues on if she is awarded a personal collar and takes into account the whole picture so she will never be dumped without resources.. It becomes a family issue.

Lets face it dear, in the end, it will be the two of us. I see the words "Man overfed to death" in the headlines.

Ahhhhem... Perhaps the headline might read "Gorean Master bonked to death, kajirae found with quantities of viagra and thraces of same were discovered in his wine by local CSI".

We talk about these things. Our property aren't cut off from their financial resources until we've made certain that things will be worked out, and we encourage most of our property to continue to work. If one owns a slave trained as a scribe or a boatbuilder or a healer, we believe that it is in our best interests to use all of their skills. In addition, we aren't around much during the day, and at the moment, we have a very -small- place, with little to keep our property properly busy for a full day... and since idle hands make mischevious work, we tend not to place our servants in a position where they might fail in their service -- outside work seems to help that process considerably.

In addition, we have made arrangements to take care of everyone whom we have a responsibility to. It also helps that we are a poly household, so it is -very- unlikely that all of our dominants would die at the same time. We've made contingency plans just in case something that does happen, but being an extended family already makes the planning a little easier. At least we know our property would be taken care of by others whom we see caring for them on a regular basis anyway.

I have a "look" for "hush -now-". I am fortunate to not have to pull it out often. It -isn't- pretty. *grins*

Greetings Mistress...

Those "looks"...are never pretty and something to be avoided at all costs! If your look is anything close to Master's.... he can freeze coffee into cubes with one of those stares.
*shivers*

Thank you for sharing, I am most grateful to read how things work in your household. That could be another topic, for another thread... the poly life in a gorean household..how does it flow? Not so much one man and a few slaves....but several free as well. I would be very interested to hear about the workings, both good and bad. :)

Best of wishes...
