greetings,

This is mostly for the girls... but i am sure some men out there may have solutions to the problem of "raped girl" hair!

Master is having me grow my hair long. It is the longest it has been ever now. (bout the middle of my back) I have very fine hair, but ALOT of it. After use or .... a series if uses, my hair is in knots! and it breaks when i brush it out. Is there any solution whether it be product, or care of some sort that others have found strengthens hair and keeps it from knoting so easily.

I'd really appreciate any help. i want my hair to continue to grow, and so far i am seeing all the progress in the brush and not on my head.

Thank you in advance *smiles*

Greetings edana :)

Master calls it "freshly fucked hair"...lol..that tangled mess that if your like me and your hair is to your butt, is not alot of fun to unwind.

Just wait until you hit menopause and your hair falls out for no reason! Conditioners that I have tried don't prevent hair loss or breakage, the only thing that helps to a degree is for me to tie it in one knot...a loose one. But then, we don't always have time to prepare, things can kind of happen...quickly and without warning.

Using a night cap, (I know, it sounds silly), works wonders. During SCA events when we pitch a tent I do sleep in a chemise and night cap, and my hair is just as pristine in the morning as when I hit the pillow...even if there is nocturnal activities :) As of yet, I have found no magical over the counter remedy, except staying away from dyes, hairspray and anything else that can damage the folicle. Even with that, Master still says I shed more then the cat!

Wouldn't it be great if we could prevent hair from growing in just the right places and speed up the process of growth in others?

Best of wishes,

lisa{Sea's}

I have baby fine hair as well. If your hair gets knotted badly, mine is bad usually when I wake up, just a simple shampooing and use conditioner, that will take out the tangles. You can also use a leave in conditioiner or detangler and merely brush it in. That will help with the knotting and frizzing.

As for the shampoo, not too sure on that one. Have you tried looking up on google.com a search for natural hair stengtherns? Just a thought.

Good morning edana,

I have a similar problem also. My hair however is thick and curly and also down the middle of my back. I have found that the best treatment for me is to braid it. I spoke to my stylist and she offers up that advice also. For women (or men i suppose) that have long hair, it should be put in a braid to help control the breakage/damage. It's not a fix all solution, but it sure has tamed it a bit more.
Here i thought my hair would slow it's growing process at the age of 46....Ohhhh no no no.... i guess i have to be different *chucklez*

Happy Sunday....

~smilezz~

Try the shampoo and conditioners that are designed for horse hair. Lots of vitamins. Or I like Pantene as well. And a good leave in conditioner can be helpful. Also a "shiner" can help cut down on the tangles. Since tangles are the problem, I am guessing a lot of your use is on your back, so try satin pillow cases.

But keep in mind that, no matter what you do, your hair will only grow as long as your genetics allow. Anagen cycles can range from 2 - 7 years.

I rank a stylist friwend when I read this as I have baby fine hair down to my mid back. Now norkally I keep my hair oiled (olive oil with cloves in it ~ well I like the smell of cloves in anycase) However I do use what I used on my Afghans when i was breeding and showing, Coconut Oil. Seems to keep the hair more tangle free. regarding breakages, I'm told that you need to keep both vitimines up and clasium levels as that is invilved in grouwing strong hair and nails.. I drink 2 litres of milk daily in any case..... Your own Phy or health food specialist may have other ideas too.

i have extremely thick, coarse hair and am currently using products designed for black women; helps some, but i'd have to fiddle with my hair before meeting anyone. *sigh*

greetings,

Thank you everyone who responded!

I have thought of braiding it, it is getting long enough that i can. I will need to ask my master if that would be alright.

His hair is past the middle of his back, thick and beautiful! he gets tangles in it from riding his motorcycle, but his delima is solved in that his slave spends several long moments brushing the knots out for him. But even then, i think i suffer more so because each hair of mine is very fine, i just have a head full. (more to tangle)

satine pillow cases? that is an excelent idea! may need satine sheets as the pillows generally find thier way off the bed... i bet that would help with the hole friction thing. hmm i will beg some and give it a try.

lisa, i do hope one day my hair will be as long a yours. my mom kept my hair short when i was a girl. i wish she had let me grow it.

I dont use any dyes or blowdry my hair, so that should help. I use pretty expensive products. (The ones my master uses). But i still see so much breakage. i think maybe the braiding may help some.

anyhow i thank everyone for their help with this "hairy" issue. *smiles*

As a former hairstylist, I can tell you that Redken puts out a product called "So Long". It is a shampoo, a conditioner, and a couple styling products that are designed with Xylose sugar, which is a chemical that long hair loses after awhile. Replenishing the xylose makes the hair stronger and less prone to breakage. Another thing to consider is having your hair colored. (not with an ammonia product) Redken also has a demipermanent haircolor product called "Shades EQ" and it coats the hair in shiny warmth, adding thicknedd and manageability to the hair without damaging it. If Master likes your current color, you wouldnt have to change the color of your hair, because Shades EQ comes in clear as well. I hope this info is useful to you!
warmly,

I'm not 100% sure if you can get this in the US, but my Wife/FC gets a bottle of TeaTree Oil and mixes it with water in a spray bottle and spray your hair. It stops the knotting, strengthens hair, and for those with kids or dealing with kids, it stops the creepy crawlies aka head lice too. You can also add a little Eucalyptus Oil into the mix (excelent anticeptic).

I live in a tropical environment and I think that little bit of knowledge will come in really handy when my child starts public school. Thank you Master!

Get a silicon based serum. Nothing ever worked so well for me. I had baby fine hair, a crapload of it, and a head full of curls. That stuff is da bomb. There are tons of manufacturers, and just a little dab'll do yah. Frizz ease is the one I tried first, and used the most.

Baby powder works well for getting tangles out. Just dust some on the tangle and sqiggle it between your fingers. The tangle will fall apart easily.

I like scented oil in my hair when dates become more than dancing and dinners. No chance of tangles ... and if you play it right, it's killer foreplay. There is some expense involved though, as high quality scented water soluble oils are a bit on the expensive side.

I like fruity smelling (and flavored) body and hair oil. It fits in well with being a bit of a fruit.

I get mine online, as it costs about half what you pay in stores.

Yep it does, that's why it is diluted in water. Some people like the smell of euclyptus which is another reason for adding it. If I was using it I'd add concentrated clove oil to mask the base smell but a mix of clove oil and musk oil is what I prefer to wear for personal fragrence.

People who are interested in aromatherapy should be able to purchase many suitable essential oils as carrier oils at wholesale prices and blend what suits them at home... Seems like a classic kajira task too ehhhh
