I have several springs and swamps (read here, they clean dirty water) and own 1600 feet of natural environment lakeshore (read that nobody wants to drop a boat in it, or ride jet skis or even fuck with it in any way.

You think 130 dollar a barrel oil is fuckin' pricey?

Oh, my friend....

Oh, yeah, and tamarack and birch swamp, as well as woods, thistle, rock and cowshit.

That doesn't appear to have a brilliant future, but those little bundles of fireplace wood at 4-12 bucks a bundle (birch now---------)

Nigerians are fuckin me on the thistle seed to feed the birds, but  I will hang, rock?  eye of the beholder------

Tal Hup,

Well...seems like designer tapwater is goin for around $442 per barrell (assuming $1 per 12oz bottle (with a nice fancy name and label) and a 42 gal. barrel.

You're correct, might be oil will be least of our worries in a few years...but keep on makin those babies and building suburbs for em to live in and malls for em to shop in.

Ain't mankind great??

quote:

ORIGINAL: Leonidas

Sorry, this is probably uncomfortably deep for a Saturday morning.

Hardly. Saturdays are a great time for it.

It's uncomfortably superficial in its analysis, however.

You may find that the sources lend themselves to a different interpretation than what has been adopted by those who would chain humanity down, rather than celebrate the glory of life. As someone who does subscribe to my own interpretation, from the sources, I find that we are encouraged to be whole, as we were born, and to own our actions. Not to expect some dead guy out of Nazareth to live our lives for us, or the priests to do so in his stead. There's a difference between knowing and doing, after all.

quote:

But Goreans being "Green" isn't so superficial a distinction as being more likely to recycle.

Comes back to being whole, doesn't it?

Health,
al-Aswad.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

If you go back to the original tale of the Flood, not the biblical story, but its inspiration, the Sumerian tale, you will find that what prompted the gods to spare us in that tale was our agreement to a covenant wherein our part was to not live beyond the means of the planet to support us, to keep our numbers manageable and our lifestyle sustainable.

It doesn't take malls to make Homo sapiens s. the last species to go in the Halocene extinction event.

Health,
al-Aswad.

awwwww... Real Men Of Gor skipping along enthralled with the sunset, writing posey to flowers... reminds me of that scene from Meet The Spartans [2008], that was a takeoff on the Budwesier commercials:

"Buttmeister presents - real men of genius
(Real Men Of Genius!!)
Today we salute you Mister warmongering latent homosexual.
(Mister War-Mongering Latent Homosexual!!)
wearing nothing but leather underwear and a cape - you charge your enemy like an oiled up, hairless wonder.
(Spray-on Tan!!)
Sure there's danger, charging rhinos, stampeding elephants, and that cute toga wearing guy named Chad.
(ooooo~)
You only went out on one date, but you'll remember it forever... forever.."
(take a dozen valtrex!!)"

NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT :)

quote:

ORIGINAL: ygraine

"Goreans care for their world. They love the sky, the plains, the sea, the rain in the summer, the snow in the winter. They will sometimes stand and watch clouds. The movement of grass in the wind is very beautiful to them. More than one Gorean poet has sung of the leaf of a Tur tree. I have known warriors who cared for the beauty of small flowers."

hello Folks,
I was thinking about this quote and some others regarding natural order, the nature of things if you will, and I was wondering if these ideas, for you, translate into living in a "Greener" way?  If you do try to "live green", is it linked to your thoughts about living as a Gorean?  How do you blend them together?

I know, a chicken or the egg question right?
Thank you for your thoughts and replies.

Y
