No, we dont have that arangment in Norway, all we have is that the parent that dont have the children living whit him or her have to pay for the child to. Though we have high divorce rates, i dont think we have as high ones as in USA no.

One question, do alamony work both ways? If the woman have been working all her life and then divorce her home dad husband, do she have to pay for him to as only would be fair.

If the female spouse has been the major breadwinner in the household, and the male spouse is the less-remunerated, -and- if the divorce is 'for cause'... infidelity, abuse, etc... then yes, from what I've seen in working with separating couples, the wife must provide alimony. However, in the US, in most households the woman is -not- the major breadwinner, so it isn't heard about often. There have been some high-profile cases here of spousal support (alimony) being paid in that direction. (The other thing that has made a HUGE difference is the proliferation of the 'prenuptial agreement', which has really skewed the whole issue of division of assets and remuneration for marital wrongs perpetrated).

The cases are hi profile because they are so rare. Courts tend to frown on alimony and especially frown on alimony for men.

A famous (infamous?) lawyer here, Marcia Clark, sued her husband for divorce and sought alimony. Her case got attention because not only was she currently making more money than her husband at the time, but she asked the court to award her money for such things as hair styling, clothing, and cars.

At the time most people thought her request was ricidulous and could set back other women in court, but some legal opinions then thought that she might prevail simply because she knew how to ask.

I don't know what the finally award (if any) was, but Bladewing or someone else might have that answer.

As this post relates to the Gorean framemind and the world
as a whole today it can be said based off of the reality of
life in several countries that the Govermental societies that
dictate and direct the society as a whole are Female Dominant
created in the fact that the majority of Males being the
bread winners are not being given custody of the children
to rear if They are in fact the more abled to provide the
basics of care for the children and instead a power higher,
Government=PreistKings are taking their Power away and
giving to the Woman to contol and take charge with. Where
I come from if a Couple seperate/divorce it is always the Male
who if the Head of the House financially takes custody of the
children and home and tend to such as is dictated by His
ability and its the small percentage of Woman who actuall gain
the home or children when a couple splits because most do tend
to be only housewifes and are not financially self sufficient. Only
when the Males with in the society at large step up to the
WHOLE responcibility of Dominance, care, control and
Power will the pussification of any male, anywhere be remedied.
This can also hold true in concept for the dickification of any female.
