I feel for all of you guys dealing with the spring midwest weather.....been there, done that, the t-shirt blew away......when I lived in Naperville, the sirens went off for a tornado on the ground, and as I was grabbing the dog, cat and phone and running for the bathtub, I happened to look out a window and people were going OUTSIDE!!!!! I love thunderstorms, but I was so afraid of them in the midwest.....Oklahoma too.....I was in Tulsa in 94, or maybe it was 95, when a big one roared down I-44....took out a HUGE gigundous truck stop, destroyed homes and killed like 25 people or so. I went out to see the damage a few days later, those big power line supports, the ones that look like mosters.....it looked as if some angry giant had just crumpled them up like paper and tossed them aside. It looked like someone had taken a pair of hedge trimmers and just lopped off the tops of the trees.....I'd never seen damage like that before. It just blew me away...no pun intended.....the only part left standing from the truck stop was the I beam supports that housed the gas pump area. One trucker just made it under them when the tornado hit....it lifted his truck straight up into the supports......if it weren't for them, he'd have died for sure. Got my fingers crossed and shooting out good thoughts for all of you!
