So. . . a heart-wrenching story for the evening . . . I was taking some benedryl, which is kept in the "drawer of wonders." In other words, it is locked to keep its contents from little Butterhead fingers. Now, she has seen me take benedryl before, and has taken NO interest in it. Tonight she was fascinated. She wanted on of the pretty pink and white pills in their neat little shiny foil packs. Mommy would not share. She asked, she pointed, she tried to touch. I kept saying, "No." I popped the pills in my mouth and took a drink of water. She was betrayed! Betrayed I tell you! Now, some of you know how hard it is for us to get Butterhead to try new foods. So, whenever she has expressed an interest in what I might be eating, I have always shared. Her world view was shattered. Mommy was NOT sharing all of a sudden. She broke into sobs. Heartwrenching sobs. I did have one dark chocolate Ferro Rochere chocolate in the "drawer of wonders" left. So I unlocked the drawer, pulled the fascinatingly crinkling package out, and showed her the shiny ball. Her eyes got HUGE. I unwrapped it and let her take it from the foil. She was SO happy. It took her several minutes to eat it all. But her world view was balanced once again. Mommy had shared from the "drawer of wonders."
