Ya, he was a good man. We started about the same time and worked a number of calls together. Of course, small town, rural Idaho, we all knew each other fairly well. My kids didn't realize that I'd knew him, they just called to tell me all that was going on and mentioned we'd lost a deputy from a flash flood. Imagine my surprise that it was someone I knew. But a lot of the roads are trashed, only main highways are open and even then, watched closely in some areas. Being high mountain desert, we get these "gully washer" storms. In this case, 2" of rain was dropped in less than one hour. Typical monsters, they just think it's grand, fun, exciting. Me - I'm thinking "oh shit, do I need to go out and do a property inspection for damage?"
