Yeah, Sci...between Angel and her countdown, and Aylee already wrapping presents, we're not going to hear the end of it!  There should be a law against having Christmas even discussed before Thanksgiving...the walmart here already has a Christmas Shoppe set up.....WTF?????  I'm no Scrooge, but this is getting waaaaay outta hand!

You have mail Holly!

If I do not organize myself, I cannot get things accomplished.  It is cosmic self-defense!

Speaking of grandchildren, The Man's grandson will be 5 1/2 and his granddaughter almost 2 this Christmas.

Suggestions of what to get? It's been so long since I had little kids I don't remember.

Okay. . . being the freak that I am, I have started wrapping the holiday gifts.  I am seriously considering leaving my younger sister off of my shopping list this year.  It has become rather stressful for me to make the effort to give her a gift for anything.  Now. . . gift giving is something that I enjoy.  I like thinking about what would be nice and then looking for it and buying it and wrapping it up and watching them unwrap it and all of that.  But, the last several years, my younger sister has pretty much ignored whatever I have gotten her.  I do not hear a "thank you," nor do I hear anything about if she even likes it.  I am finding this rather frustrating and it has really taken the "fun" out of this for me.

So this year, I am not sure that she will be going on my list for gift buying.

May I suggest a nice assortment of thank you and all occassion cards, with stamps?

earplugs and duct tape

*nod nod nod*

and for the kids... a nerf football for the boy, and a stuffed animal for the girl. Unless you happen to dispise the grandkids' parent. Then a drum and xylophone Or one of these.

For the granddaughter:

This is an intensly personal question, but I think you need to consider it before you decide on the gift:  How much money are you wanting to spend?

You do not need to answer that to ME, however.

The the $100 + range:  A play kitchen.  You can get them at US TOY Comapany and Constructive Playthings.  Here is the link:  http://www.cptoys.com/cgi-bin/cptoys_cgi.sh/WService=cptoys/find.htm?dept_id=&parent_id=&mscssid

They have several to choose from.  Butterhead has one of the smaller ones.

Also a DVD player for the car

The $50 - $100 range:

A small table and chair set

The $30 and under range:

Crayons
Big Chief tablet or reem of paper
Trucks
Cars
Things with wheels
A backpack (change out the diaper bag!  Big girl now!)
Cheap and Cheesy jewrly from Claire's or where ever.  The sparklier the better.
Hair things
New bath toys
Summer swim lessons
Clothes from the Goodwill to play dress-up in
A large lightweight blanket for making a fort
Her own sleeping bag
My First Craftsman Toys
Things that can be sorted, stacked, or put inside of other things.

This is what I can think of off the top of my head.  I am sure there are more things.

There are the Flint Hills.

Look. . .  if Shakespeare can give Elsinore cliffs in Hamlet, then *I* can have a cliff to jump off of in Kansas.  After all, *I* certainly would NOT leave my spouse my SECOND BEST bed.  *Humph*
