It is an, "*I* can buy my child the things she needs and take care of her MYSELF!" mentality. 

Ummm. . . I watched my sister's depend on my parents and other relatives for so much of what their kids needed.  And my younger sister still does.  It is grandma & grandpa that buy the toys, the halloween costumes, throw the b-day parties. . . yadda, yadda. 

So it is sometimes difficult to realize that people would like to get her things and it is not the same as thinking that I would not or could not do so. 

But I am working on it!

If you made it "Kipper," you would be her most favorite uncle EVER!!!!!

I have not been able to find the Kipper videos, although I have not looked on Amazon yet for them.

Status: offline 		Having never heard of them, I just looked it up. They sound really nice and both the two year old and the six year old could watch them. Think that's going on my list.

The man's oldest by his first marriage has two grands. By the second he's got kids just about the same age as mine. Together, his 21 y.o., my 20 y.o., his 19 y.o., his 17 y.o., my 16 y.o. They get money usually. Or gift cards to Barnes & Noble for the two girls. The boys are impossible to buy for. And when they're all together, it's a zoo.

Celeste...one of the reasons i can do my Christmas shopping at the last minute is because, with the exception of Jim and the LO, it is either gift cards or cash.

Kipper is one of the programs that I really approve of.  Some of the toddler shows I am not too keen on.  Butterhead ADORES Kipper.  It is as if the world STOPS for Kipper.

Dragontales is also really good!

Another Two-year old giftie. . . I guess that there are some bath-tup crayon things out (or maybe fingerpaints?) anyway, my mom was talking about getting some for Butterhead.  You might think about those as well.

Status: offline 		I used to give Klutz Press face painting books but can't find them anymore. For a while I wound up running face painting booths at the synagogue. As long as I had the book to copy, I could turn a kid into anything.

And colored zinc oxide would allow any kid to tolerate sunscreen. Orange and black stripes, eek it's a tiger!

Yeah, they're kind of sliding right now... the pack too. :(  In Pitt's defense though, and I think I'm about the only defense the Steelers have right now, Cinci is actually doing pretty damn well this year.
