Status: offline 		So, I'm sitting here half dressed waiting to go out...meeting someone tonight...from here, actually.....wearing black pants, (they're slimming)....and of course, who hops into my lap?  Squeaks...my little white kitteh....I swear, they can shed on demand!!!!!  By the color!!!!!

The thing to do is to be like Me: have many cats in a variety of colors, and/or have a calico, who is color-coordinated to shed on anything.

Status: offline 		Well, I don't have any calicos, but mine have gray, brown, black, tan, and white fur, so that'll pretty much cover everything I wear.  And have you ever stepped on the end of one of their shedded whiskers?  I did once, and the thing jabbed me like a needle!!!!!  The end that comes out of the follicle is hard and very sharp!!!!  Imagine looking down at the bottom of your foot and seeing it sticking OUT of it.....sorta weirded me out a bit.....

..sounds like one of your kittehs has some porcupine in their genetic makeup. I only tend to step on the bones and soda lids that they love to play with..

I usually just guess with authority......sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  I've learned that over the years of working with rookies...they have a habit of calling dispatch and asking for phone numbers....I just fire off "555-1212", and at LEAST 90% of the time, they start to write it down...or say "thanks"  and hang up to dial the number.  The other kicker is they call me back when they get information to tell me it was information...duh!.....so I ask them if they got the number......usually, it's "No, I hung up to get it from you!"  DOUBLE DUH!!!!!!  Men are doofuses......I have yet to catch a female rookie with this.......and the other officers have fallen for it too.....they don't call me The Evil One for nuttin' honey!

Status: offline 		I just got to watch the Christmas boat parade down the Potomac.  They made their u-turns right in front of the house here.  And it's snowing.  So it was very festive. 

Now I'm trying to figure out how to add on to both sides of this crocheted blankie for the doll bed.  I discovered it's not like knitting, I can't just cast on 15 or 20 more stitches.

Status: offline 		It's just double crochets, then turn & dbl crochet.  The bottom of it has to be one width for a few inches, then needs to get bigger by about 5-6" for the rest of the blankie.  I'm starting at the bottom.  Not sure exactly what I'll do now.  *sigh*

ETA:  I'm such an idiot!!  My only excuse is that it's been so many years since I've crocheted anything.  Ya gotsta start on the big end & then reduce the number of dbl crochets when you get to the narrower end.  May I just say "DUH"??!!!
