Greetings girl,

Neither does I but you're on the right direction there.

See, all I did here was just pointing out the obvious to her, as I never understand why people are so persistent with trying to force a square peg through a circular one when it won't do any good.

Better then to cut the loss and move on, again, there's nothing wrong with doing so, and as pointed out earlier go find something more worthwhile to use the time and energy on.

Good tho that you took the time to read through what I wrote and replied to it instead of going "parrot".

I wish you well,

  Camerius

greetings Master (Camerius),

"going parrot" as You put it was not xian's intention when she wrote her original post.  She came here looking for valid advice on how to interpret the ideas in the books, curious to see if they matched her internal philosophies.  She was not searching for a personal philosophy, that is already firmly there.  She has had some wonderful advice so far, and is now much more confident in dealing with the books.  She thanks everyone who has posted.

xian's Master actually pointed out to her (after reading this thread) that You weren't trying to "have a go" at her, even though xian initially interpreted Your posts that way (being "with child" has made her much more emotionally sensitive to everything lately).  She apologises if she was in any way out of line with her responses.

well wishes,

Additionally, the books can help a girl understand where the men are coming from--and applying herself accordingly.

Of course. But if she's struggling with it, I see no reason why her efforts wouldn't be better spent learning from experience, with the man in question. The bit about the man as a catalyst... there's always going to be a bit of a tailor in there, too. His collar is the one she has to fill, after all. Comes a time when banging her head against the wall is counterproductive and other approaches (e.g. the door) might need to be evaluated.

It's certainly a thing to attempt, though, and there should be some lessons in there, even if one doesn't get all of it.

Health,
al-Aswad.

Tal Camerius,

In the course of tracking down people-issues over the years, I've observed one thing (that I persist in forgetting all too often, sadly enough): the obvious never is. Your reply was still the one with the highest information density and applicability, of course, but I don't think it got across the first time around. Thus, commentaries occur. Then the parrots arrive. Then the asses. Then the mods kill it. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Health,
al-Aswad.

P.S.: Light-hearted tone everyone; that obviously doesn't carry in text.

Tal Aswad,

Yup, truth be spoken.

I wish you well,
