Luckily, my husband does quite a bit of leather work and showed me the basics. Believe it or not, I found the hardest part to be setting the spikes. That involves stacking so many tools... the polymer cutting board, then the anvil, the rounded bottom of the stud inserted through the leather, then the spike, the spike setter... hold it all really straight and pound on it with a well used raw hide mallet that is no longer flat on the bottoms. *sigh* The process of making collars is fairly simple. But all the tools to get started start running into money.
