I missed the pink fur bit. Of course, I only expect you'd have super classy ones Mizz Fashonista ;)

Heh. Check this out, hopefully my latest find. I've been into bindi for the past year or so because I think they are elegant, unexpected, and have a lot of symbolism behind them. Lately I've been getting more into coronets and circlets.

Gold Claddaugh Circlet with Glass Emerald Stone

Are these worn as necklaces? They are beautiful. I'd love a white gold or platinum one with a Ruby, my stone ;)

No they are worn on the head. The center piece rests on the forehead between the eyes.

Very ornate! I'm sure it would look lovely on you.

Yes unfortunately it will. Just like my friend can't wear chunky thigh high boots or people will think she's a dominant *horrors*

Sadly that is the reason I sometimes choose not to wear necklaces, because I KNOW it's going to be perceived as a collar of some sort. Sometimes though I don't care.

corn flakes, ssc, or rack, i'm *not* leaving behing my diamonds! i'll just have to get a headband of a different colour (like that horse in "the wizard of oz;" maybe it can rotate through the colours so everyone will be confused).

Francine! I love choker necklaces, especially pearls (look at the second pic on my profile) and I imagine they could be perceived as a collar. Do I care? Nope. I don't think my eyes say submissive at all ;-)

Oh my yes...there is the Collar of Confusion, for those who try to make sense of real time BDSM after only experiencing online BDSM. There is the Collar of Condescension, for those subs who think that slaves are "doormats" (or for the slaves who think the subs are "players"). Then there are "Mentoring Collars", which mean that a slave is new enough to fuck once or twice, but not good enough to own. And "Training Collars" which mean that while I want you to do my dishes and mop my floors, don't unpack your bags.

I am sure there are others I am forgetting...there was a tiger-stripped one that I think meant "Collar of Cornflakes"...but, for the life of me, I can't recall exactly what that really meant.

THAT IS PRICELESS

My boy wears a leather anklet that is very easily kept discreet in his business attire job. It has a small charm of significance to us and when we "formalize" our relationship he will wear a locked infinity collar around his neck. However he has also made it clear that he will be adding a diamond to my finger at that time so something to consider.

Thank you for the compliment.

I would say however that what we wear does say a lot about who we are. We can however reappropriate certain symbols.

Master got me a leather collar originally..it was red..cuz its my favorite color..and cuz its the color of my wrist and ankle cuffs (red suede)..put them altogether and they create a beautiful picture *grin*...the trouble with the leather collar was...i cant wear it in public..its my birthday this weekend..and He is taking me shopping to get another collar i can wear always..it will be a gold chain with a heart or something on it, He wants a sapphire in it as its his birthstone...i cant wait...
i dont know about different colors meaning different things...as most people have said...collars and what they are made from..if you have one or not..is up to the individual relationship...there is no hard and fast rule.
i do love symbolisms tho...so even tho i know Master owns me with or without a collar.....having something around my neck..i can see and feel...really means a lot to me.

There are some really great necklaces that are pretty easy to find right now that are a heavier chain with a heart on the end then a key that threads through a hole to hold it secure. Adding a lock to them or closed link would be really easy. Check for the threads on collars I know that I have seen some really pretty public collars linked.

Tiffany's makes the classic version, was hugely popular in summer of 03.

some of these websites had similar things:

http://www.elegantpicks.com/advanced_search.php
http://www.angelfire.com/tn2/gangstagold/slave_bracelets_rings_jewelry_2.html
http://www.elegantpicks.com/
http://secure.bidz.com/main/default.asp?promoid=miva30&url=http://ht.bidz.com
http://www.tiffany.com/international.asp

the elegantpicks one has some tiffany on it at *really discounted prices*. you can also search ebay for tiffany or any other type/brand of jewelry and find some deals. hope this helps. be well.

You forgot the Velcro collar, which I think made its first appearance in BDSM IRC chat rooms!

LadyAngelika

Boy You're not kidding. i used to spend alot of time in the Lobby, CM's official chat room. (For some reason, i cannot reach the chat rooms here anymore; support is working on it.) i was taken aback when a Man collared a woman He had never met; and people were expected to take this to heart. Most especially, other Men were not supposed to PM the woman. Lots of disputes broke out over that idea. Then, after a time, a Man would enter with a completely new submissive or slave He had "collared" inasmuch as He had "released" the first woman. We were supposed to provide emotional support for the woman who was released, and congratulate the new couple.

i guess some people just need a hobby.
