SirAndGentleman -> Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 3:34:57 PM)

Is this a scientific reason why subs should not sleep in the Doms bed ?

So... would he be more stressed by me being in the bed, or more stressed by me walking out the door swiftly because he won't let me sleep in the bed?

This also assumes that the study holds for more than their little sample. Fox sleeps better than me when we share the bed. More proof maybe that I'm the man in the relationship. But I'll be damned if my slave uisnt sharing my bed just because my stress goes up.

So Ricky, Lucy, Ozzie, Harriet, Ward and June were right all along!

please notice the blurb: Sharing a bed with someone could temporarily reduce your brain power - at least if you are a man - Austrian scientists suggest.

if a dominant does not wish to sleep with his slave, that is his right.  but, to say no based on a suggestion by some austrians - well, i guess you deserve to miss all the cuddles and love then. [:D]

These types of studies are stupid!

Not for Me.

NormalOutside -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 3:45:16 PM)

The term "suggest" is used in research to mean it hasn't been completely scientifically proven, Juliannadelion.  It doesn't mean that some random people decided to make a suggestion.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 3:51:01 PM)

Whatever works for you.  While I agree the idea of couples in beds together as "the way" is past its prime, that doesn't mean it isn't a great situation for a lot of people.  As usual, you're only measuring what you test for, which is not at all exactly what you're trying to find.

From:
http://psychcentral.com/news/2006/12/29/male-gender-bias-in-psychology-research-continues/

~Friday, Dec 29 (Psych Central) -- Despite decades of striving toward equality, gender biases appear prevalent amongst researchers in psychology. In a recently published study, the investigators found that psychology researchers most often compare females against an implicit male norm, rather than on their own or vice-a-versa.~

This is just one from 2,290,000 articles about make gender bias on google.

W
hat a load of bollox. Everyone, just everyone knows that in a gender perfect world, men snore regardless of their orientation. Put a trans in the bed or more than two human beings and it completely throws out the research.

Where I sleep totally depends upon where I am allowed to. Thus far (give us a break it’s a honeymoon period) it has been in His bed and I have slept so deeply that I have been blissfully unaware what He has been doing. Does that support or refute the original research? It;s hardly valid anyay if it relies on what scientists suggest.

monywildcat -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 4:04:31 PM)

For us, it would be incredibly hard for Daddy to roll me over for some fantastic good morning sex if I was not in the bed with him.  Talk about increasing stress!  Hence, there I lay, curled at his side.  I know I sleep better that way.  And he does not complain.

What got me, was that the good Doctor said that sleeping together is a "bizarre thing to do".  Hey it works for us.  If it doesn't for the couple next door, then that's okay too.  Whatever works.

IronBear -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 4:12:23 PM)

Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? In short, sub/slaves sleep where they are commanded to, end of discussion.

BKSir -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 4:16:04 PM)

That's fine, my pet is a male also, so, even if my brain power goes down a bit, so does his, so, the ratio is maintained. ;)

CallaFirestormBW -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 4:30:50 PM)

As someone who works in research, the sample size in this study is -way- too small to make any kind of verifiable conclusions from the statistics. 8 couples isn't even enough to make a valid -inference- from, though this might be sufficient for an interesting aside and some future, more extensive studies.

No comment on the issue of subs in a dom's bed. Being a female, and an excruciatingly light sleeper, I'm outside the sample structure (speaking of which -- this won't be a valid study until matched with same-gender couples who also share a bed, to see if sleep is affected more for one partner than another in same-gender pairings as well, which might suggest other reasons than gender for the stress hormone and aptitude test results). I suspect that sleeping with -anyone- would screw with my sleep patterns -- but I manage with my Darling.

Heh, we sleep in the same bed when we are together... but it is a enourmous beds, and we usually wake up on opposite ends.

Cuddles are fine... smothering is not.

daddysliloneds -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 5:02:38 PM)

anyone who sleeps with me in the same bed will not only lack sleep but brain-power as well come the next morning...

i snore so loud that even the best of ear-plugs won't tune me out and i'm like a leech attaching myself to their body for cuddling.

while i may have the best sleep ever, the dominant, on the other hand, looks like someone beat the shit out of him come the early morning hours.

Lashra -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 5:32:27 PM)

Mine sleeps in my bed with me because I give him permission too. I don't know about a scientific reason they shouldn't sounds like some BS someone made up.

MidMichCowboy -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 5:36:31 PM)

She will sleep with me. I don't sleep well alone. I sleep much better with someone in my arms. That report sure as hell didn't include me.

MissIsis -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 5:37:43 PM)

It only reduces brain power when he spits his brains out from his little head.

I believe sleeping arrangements should be worked out between those involved. I have known & know married couples that don't share a night-time bed & things seem to work out just fine for all involved.

SweetDommes -> RE: Should subs sleep in the Doms bed ? (9/15/2008 5:37:47 PM)

Holly and rob sleep in the same bed, and our second boy will sure as hell be sleeping with me.  Like others - I don't sleep well alone, and the cat just doesn't cut it some days.
