10. Make the choice to wear that mantle (Gorean) and accept the responsibility for doing so.

Those are just my thoughts on it. If I had to sum it up into 10 items, those would be it.

Everyone else's mileage probably varies.

Interesting list.
Would the fact that someone like myself who doesn't identify as Gorian can lay claim to #1 through #8 lessen their identification with a strictly Gorian philosophy or be seen as just a reflection of me not being as restrained by this world as many others?

Well many of you know me already and hate me, others have yet to meet me and hate me, either way I am always real and always serious (I know I 'm so dull!)

In my opinion this thread is asking the impssable. Ever tried asking anyone who isn't of a judiac(sp?) background to give you ten commandment? Try having a druid give you a list of ten commandments. You response will likely be the same as mine: 10? Just 10? I can list the triple 9x9 rules of life (that would be 243 rules), but that would take ages (hense they have books).

You see, this is a lifestyle, a philosphy, but NOT a religion. The rules are not so easily defined. You ask about a set of rules that would help you better understand if you want to read the books.Well only one comes to mind. Be honorable to yourself, to others, and to every living thing that exists. If you accomplish this, you have mastered more then most gorean men, christian men, or men from any walk of life ever will.

P.S to all those who keep saying that the chronicles of gor are boring and badly written works of fiction, try writing a book series that lasts over 40 years and keeps the readers coming back with every new book.

What an interesting view, and entertaining in the dry way you put it. From mmy own experience I have only 4 Commandments or keys to living life if you will. I was taught them when I first joined Lodge and was told to engrave them on my heart and soul. They can be adapted for many aspects of life.
