I recently purchased two gel butt plugs, small and medium. The first day I used the small plug and on day two I was already on the medium. The small one kept slipping out and I read here a few days ago that is due to the size of the base of the toy. What I can't remember is if it was too small or too long. Years ago I used to self-indulge in much anal play. I am a rather small person and am shocked at how big I was able to go.

A set of five plugs in graduated quarter inch increments is sold by extremerestraints.com and probably others, and one might consider this for training. They range from 1" to 2", so make a good starter set.

My sub and I have decided that she is going to undergo anal training and while I think it's wonderful that we have decided that I can use any of her holes as I feel, the real key is to NOT cause permanent damage to her body. This is to include something the size of a mason jar in to her ass. I'm not sure who told you that this was a good idea, but if you read ANY medical documentation on the topic, you will find that people that do this sort of thing (the Doc Johnsons) have severe anus issues in the years to come. Sure it sounds fun now, but in 20 years, you're gonna have surgery to correct the many tears, cists, hemroids, and other issues with the anal tissues.
Quite frankly, if you're going to do it, you should start at the smallest comfortable size you can and work your way up. If your going to start with a Doc, you should just go outside and shove your car right in your ass.... it's the same damned thing. The human body is resilient... not impervious. USE COMMON SENSE!

I've just started to wear a butt plug almost 24/7, bus seen as it's my first one my Dom got me a little one, is only about an inch inch and a half wide at the widest point, and 3 or 4 inches long.... Still feels strange, and I'm glad he started with a small one. But I have nothing really to add, just start small and work your way up.

I have found that the best way is to have a couple glasses of wine and use lots of lube and just force yourself to drop your weight down on it.

i agree fully, when my first Owner started me out in anal play. He started me out on a small plug and worked my way up. if you start out smaller its the best and you still get that edge of something new. i have continued to take the Med training plug for the last year since i have no Owner anymore, butt i know that i can go the a large if i find a new Owner.

i have found a method that works great! like everyone said use plenty of lube and then i was broken in by in one session a meduim plug, then a strapon or long dildo that can be pushed in and out rapidly then i was able to take the large plug.

The authors of "Screw the Roses and Send me the Thorns" recommends the small medium size. I've had good success with it to. It is about the average size at full width of a man's penis. I have also heard that when starting out a small dildo is easier to take then a butt plug (with some type of belt attachment to hold in place of course).

Master knew enough to start out with the small size.
He left it to me to order it and i thought the gel sounded comfy..well it's just nasty.
And after three months it could pop out a little when i was working around the farm.
i was smarter this time round and got the medium and a large size.
Harder plastic but not bad and the good thing is they can really be cleaned.
i get caught without having an ennama once in awhile so the cleanliness is an issue with me big time.
Theres no way i will ever get the large sized one in..(not a challange Master..please
God...)
Oh yes,(important) they come in my color..red.
And yes..lubes good.
But not if i have been really bad.
However,the medium sized one will not go in with out it.
So now astro lube is my friend.

I think that one more thing should be mentioned: when the plug is being inserted (SLOWLY!!!) wiggling it gently in ever widening circles also helps you loosen up, without the direct inward pressure.

While there is some advice here that is worth listening to, most seems at best academic and at worst overheard in a bad chat room. In much of the advice the fetish of the advisor comes screaming through the advice.

In my case, I am just an arrogant prick but here goes.

The muscles of the spincter (it ain't a fucking pore) are designed to keep stuff in and only let stuff out (although you are trying to push it in) when they are relaxed. The trick is to emulate the push you do when you are having a bowel movement but instead push against the plug and that will relax the spincter.

Those who have said don't tear your ass however ARE giving you good advice so go slow but the above should help you get stuffed.

Try this on for size. It's rather common during certain medical procedures for a surgeon to insert his entire hand into a guys ass. That's how they operate on a prostate. Most of the time that happens to guys who've never engaged in anal play at all.

The key is relaxation. Now granted, when they remove a prostate, the patient is knocked out and there are probably even local muscle relaxants administered.

But the point is, the anal sphincters are capable of stretching to an alarming width. The key is relaxing. Any size that can be taken without pain is fine. But if it hurts, the last thing one should do is force the issue.

The tip about pushing against the invading object is pure gold. It works.

To anybody who is focusing on dilating their ass, I would suggest that it's easier to have something narrow that expands than to take something larger than you're used to. Think speculums, inflatables, fingers, and such. Oh, and it is impossible to use too much lube for anal sex, particularly anal stretching.

Wonder if a sub or slave would respond to how they mentally prepare themselves for anal play...my Master has indicated that my training will be headed in this direction next...and as someone who has never experienced anal play...I am very nervous and concerned..about how it will feel, how it can be done safely, and cleanly, but mainly how to have a positive attitude and not displease my Master by being a "stooge" or "wimp"...all help will be appreciated...thanks

Just don't worry about it, so long as he's being careful about cleanliness, and starting small it is not too bad. If you are really worried try a finger when masturbating and see how that feels. It is alot of fun so good luck :)

My enslavement began with butt-plug training. I was given a set of butt-plugs and a locking butt-plug harness to wear right after my collaring. Mistress Taryn keeps me permanently plugged; I sleep and go to work with a butt plug in! Mistress Taryn allows two short (5 minute) toilet breaks per day. It was a great shock to my system when my live-in girlfriend, and now Mistress, presented an ultimatum of becoming enslaved or moving out, but I did not figure that butt plug training would begin right away. As owned property with no rights, i really had no choice, and it was too late to back out of the Ownership Contract by then.
Being forcibly plugged 24/7 is an extremely humiliating experience. I was going to suggest what phoenixslave suggested: a very well lubed inflatable, gently inflating it over time.

Why would you want to risk a lifetime of hemhorroids or anal damage shoving something large up your ass? There are also numbing creams and sprays you can use-get them at any adult store or online-that might help you relax. The major complaint is that it numbs the experience, but once the anus is stretched, you won't need the cream anymore.

Relaxation is key. If you are nervous or stressed, this could make it worse. Ever go for a prostate exam? Maybe have a drink before hand?

Always remember (and I am sure its been said ad nauseum here) LUBE, LUBE, LUBE. The anus does NOT make its own lubrication like a vagina does. In fact, I have taken a turkey baster full of the stuff and inserted it before I have trained a slave anally. I got that tip from a Domme who also does a lot of anal training. And it works beautifully.

If you don't believe something large is going to get in.... it's going to be more difficult. Like crappydom said.. push against it and then relax. Lots of lube and time. It's not a question of trying for few minutes per week. Give it time.

My first ever plug went in dry - and that was a doc johnson medium plug. It took me number of tries and hours to get the large one in. Practice practice practice and try again until it works. If you really try I don't see a reason to spend weeks in getting the plug in. No, I don't believe you should start with the humongous sizes. Also do it slowly and try not to overdo it. For this kind of play you should not experience much pain. But more than a week to go from small to medium or large? You need to work on the brain.... not the anal tissue.

Did some work with a smaller inflatable device last week. Was able to stretch out without pain so four fingers and part of thumb went in, felt very full but not painful. She is working up to the fisting of course, in time perhaps. I am a total fan of the inflatable plug, works great.
