I learn from the simplest things as I was musing about the various responses to the recent question:
Does [cock] size matter?
When I suddenly realized, there's another manly "size" question, at least in my mind, perhaps not wholly unrelated to D/s pursuits among men & women.

Does a man's physical HEIGHT matter?

Specifically, does a submissive woman tend to gravitate and yearn more for a taller Dom or Top than the lesser height-endowed men?

While i prefer men taller then me, if they are within an inch or two of my height (5'10) i dont really have a problem and wouldnt be a deal breaker. There are other factors that matter so much more.

i prefer six feet or more.  Still,  i am more interested in character, and intellegence to let it (height) really deter me from being with someone if they had all the integral qualities i admired...or were amazing in bed.

I used to be attracted to tall men, then I fell in love with one of average height, and I married him (the lucky sod!). Height is an accessory, not a destination.

So funny all of the silly things we put on our "important qualities" shopping list.

I always said I wanted a dark haired, petite woman. That was before I fell madly in love with a 5'10" blonde. (I am 5'6") The end had nothing at all to do with height.  Now I just keep my options open.

I had a serious thing for tall men for years (I'm 5'2" so 'tall' is subjective.) Experience showed me that even a guy who is 6' 4" can still be a very small man. Now a guy doesnt have to be a tree-topper - he can still be a giant in my eyes if his heart is in the right place.
 
p.s. too MUCH height could make strap-on play a real challenge. I'm just sayin....

When I look, it's always the tall guys that turn my head. But when it comes down to it, I have beeen in relationships with men of all sorts of different physical characteristics.

Yes, but only because I am tall 5'9", I'm more comfortable with men my height or perferably taller.  It has nothing to do with D/s

I find all sorts of men attractive, but the major relationships in my life have always involved ones that are taller than 6 ft.
now, the real deal breaker...their thighs have to be bigger than mine [:D]

Being 5'10", I'm not interested in anyone shorter than me.  Been there, done that.  My Master is 6' and I just love that He's a bit taller than me.

In my experience, men seem to add a bit on to their actual height on profiles, especially if they are under 6'.  I can't tell you how many guys I met who were 2-4 inches shorter than what they have listed.  I don't know if it's intentional, or they're just guessing, or if it's just wishful thinking, but they got a rude awakening when they came face to face with a woman who hadn't lied about her height.

i have the same issue as flutter.. I'm 5'2 so.. "tall" isnt saying much. but i do tend to be attracted to ppl at least a few more inches taller then me. ppl (men) arnt supposed to be my height.. it just.. feels wrong u know.. makeing out with someone and i dont have to stand on tip toe. could just be that i havent had bfs who were around my height. bf1 was 6'5 or more.. and bf2 was probably around 6' even. i dont have much experience so.. yeah.

I've never really thought about this one at all. I think though that i would have to say yes i'd prefer my man to be taller than me. Saying that i haven't had a partner that wasn't taller than me, but i am only 5ft 4 so i guess the odds are on for me being with someone taller than myself.

Im 5"2 like other people have said most people are taller than me. My ex wasnt and it wasnt much of an issue to be honest.

I couldn't care less, but my Darling is actually looking for a taller guy than she is (she's 5' 9" or 5' 10" depending on who is measuring and whether she 'slumps' to try to look more delicate) because she -likes- going dancing with a guy who is taller than she is. Now, not -every- guy in our household would have to be 6' +... but at least one is eventually going to have to be, I guess, so she can have a dancing partner.

I'm 5 ft 7 and I like them taller than me because it makes me feel small and delicate (and I'm neither small NOR delicate).  And in my experience (like others), if  guy is under 6 ft 1, then he adds 2 inches to his height.  So if someone says he's 5 ft 9, I figure we'll be looking eye to eye.

Interesting that the first guy I was engaged to was about 4 inches shorter than me and Italian.  I broke it off (for other reasons).  My husband was 5 ft 5 and Italian.  We're divorced.  I've never even dated anyone other than those two that were shorter than me.

Methinks I should stay away from Italians that are shorter than me.

To an extent it does. I wouldn't want someone so short I towered over him and that's not easy for me to do at 5' foot 5 in a half. Nor would I really want  us to be head to head, dead on at the same height.

Most men tend to be about 6 feet tall or so, and so I've never had any problem with them being to short.


But then if I REALLY like them and they really have something going for them and we're really compatible other wise, I wouldn't pooh pooh someone who was shorter than I wanted, provided he wasn't a midget and provided that I didn't tower over him by a full head or more.
